Question about Canon imageCLASS D860 All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Line appears on copies when using ADF on Canon ImageClass D860

I have the copier, not the printer. I have searched and keep seeing suggestions to clean small strip of glass, but I do not have one of those on my copier. Any ideas?

Sounds like there is a papper jam but I can not see papper. Copies are coming out crumpled.

These machines use a fuser film. When they get torn or go bad they make a paper crumpling sound. When this happens it also causes wrinkles and creases in your copies. There may also be areas of your copy where the print will rub off. This means it is time for a new fusing unit. They are not cheap and removal of the old unit and installation of the new unit is not easy so plan on having a service person replace it. Just do a search for Canon D860 fuser or fusing unit.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Roller marks on copies. I ran the cleaning menu and it asks me to open the ADF to clean the rollers.. How do you do that and where is it.

The adf is the automatic document feeder and its located on top of the machine. use a clothe with 409, simple green or water and look in where you put your copies to be copied. You will see 2 grey rollers. wipe them off. NO alcohol Also are the marks on the docs you are running through the adf or comming out of the copier. Steven 818-888-0006

How I can open "ADF"?

ADF file extension cant be opened by windows you will need a program to open it, you can download a program called winfellow from this link:

copy and paste it into the search bar at the top af your browser.

http://download-free.programas-gratis.net/php/software.php?id_programa=15352&download-Winfellow-Amiga-0.4.4

Also it might be worth getting a registry cleaning tool as adf could be causing registry errors.

Line appears on copies when using the automatic feeder.

You have a piece of dirt or whiteout on the scanner glass. When the paper is moving by, it creates a "Line" if the paper is sitting still on the glass, it may be a dot or it may even use a different glass alltogether for ADF vs Paltten scanning.

Black lines

Here you go.
1. Put a paper on the glass don't use the ADF see if you printed copy has a black line on it.

If you do not have a black line on it, do the following.

Lift up the ADF tray go in to additional functions #6 Adjust/Clean and then #2 clean the ADF feeder.

The roller is in the top of the ADF feeder at the right and is white in color. When you press the (set) button you will see it spin.

Also clean the glass you have some whiteout on it. (Look at the glass real good when cleaning it).
