The first link is to download the step by step instructions on how to replace the hard drive on your model. The second is the contact link for e-machine ,as I found no restore disk as a download.

How to take pictures off dead emachine

The hard drive must still be working to get the pictures off. The best thing to do is remove the hard drive from the machine and use either an external USB type case to mount the drive into so you can use another computer to explore the drive or there is a tool that just plugs on to the drive with a USB cable and power supply built in that will serve the same purpose. You must get the appropriate type to match the drive type which could be either IDE or SATA. SATA drives use the small cable and IDE use the wide ribbon. If the hard drive is not working, you would have to get specialized and expensive company to retrieve the data from the drive.

Replace hard drive

The eMachine T3995 hard drive was originally an IDE 250GB drive. These drives are obsolete and hard to find.

I suggest using the following Generic IDE to SATA device on Amazon for about 7 dollars and then replacing the IDE drive with the SATA drive of your choice such as the 320GB Western Digital Blue listed on Amazon at about 25 dollars. Both IDE and SATA drives mount the same way.

Prior to installing the radeon 4550 video card i followed the instructions and disabled the onboard video adapter via the device manager. I have the emachine model T6520. After disabling the onboard...

Hello
Try reseating the video card in the pci slot, remove completly then reinstall.

Also check your monitor video cable for being tight.

Last..Does this card require 24 volts? check for a 4 pin adaptor plug on the card.It may need its own power.

I am trying to find the power switch diagram for an emachine t6520 thanks

On a Asus motherboard its not designed for eMachines systems because they come with a proprietary setting on the case. So what you need to is take the emachines motherboard that you took out and take the new motherboard that you bought and match the two. If there is a difference then you need to return it or buy a new case and you shift all the hardware from the emachines to the new case. If not buy a similar replacement board from emachines or ebay and you can find one and buy it. The Power setting is on all motherboards but some are different then others.

I have a emachine T6520 that I'm trying to get to work. When I put in the recovery disk it freezes during the reconfiguring. What can I do?

Maybe you should try to do a "destructive" restore. when restoring from the recovery disc, you have the option to do a "destructive" or "none destructive" system recovery. if you choose to to non destructive recovery, then any virus that may be on your pc will not be removed and this may be the reason why your recovery always stops half way through. note that this will format the hard drive and you will loose all the files on the hard drive, including photos and documents. if this doesn't work then you should try to find out if you have a hardware problem. you can download one diagnostic software from seagate, that you burn to a cd. you use this as a boot disc, like the recovery disc, to test your hard drive, memory and motherboard to see if you need to replace any components. the most common problem is the hard drive. http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=SeaTools&vgnextoid=720bd20cacdec010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD

Also some times display screeen resolution issue so when u power up press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode then you can chang escreen resolution to 1024*768.
but if num lock key is not on and offf then open the cabinet of cpu then find cmos cell on mother bord and pull it for 14 minutes then check .
