When I log on to my laptop, windows screen goes

When I log on to my laptop, the 'windows' screen goes black. The screen for 'documents' opens but nothing else. I can't see the taskbar or menu and I can't see icons on desktop. I can only access internet through the 'help' screen. If I close all open windows the screen is just black. I can only log off using 'windows task manager'. I've only had my laptop for 7 months. I don't know what to do...can anybody help?

By going into the Task manager, type windows explorer in the new tab. That should bring up your desktop icons, The reason for this could be that you have a lot of applications trying to load all at once and it can cause some lock up in the system.
A full system repair should be your last choice.

Macbook screen goes black after I log in.

Since the screen does turn on at the login page, I would say that it doesn't seem as though anything is physically wrong with your computer. It sounds to me like it's a software issue. Either get someone to try and reinstall your video drivers or to back-up your documents, files, etc., format the hard drive, and reinstall a fresh copy of Mac OS.
