- sony will not service ps3. they just offer to replace it for a fee of £150. my opinion this is known problem like the overheating on xbox and sony should be repairing the ps3 for free - GuestBest Solution

yes rulds is right it is an overheating problem it happens when the bga`s on the motherboard get so hot due to the **** thermal compound sony use make`s the soilder crack inside the bga`s and that make`s your computer (ylod) yellow light of death how ever this can be fixed if you dont wont to pay sony to do it its called reflowin the bga`s go to you tube typed in ylod fix and follow gilkeys vids and you will bring your ps3 back from the dead hope this helps please rate thanks pot07
