Stuck pfister faucet sleeve

  1. 2_25_2013_3_58_17_pm.gif

  2. Thanks to Danny Paccho I purchased a wrench to use in removing the sleeve from Geers Plumbing

  3. Then , removed the \'87 Price Pfister faucet housing from the basin by disconnecting the 2 pipes under the basin and removing the top basin nut; inserted the wrench into the top, turning counter-clockwise until it locked (er tightened a bit) and hammered it out ,gently?, to not damage the escutcheon threads , or the basin nut.

Can't turn the key back to shut off . seems to be an association between geer shift and locking mechanism for key ignition. could you help?

the shifter on the floor has a cable going to it. you can either disconnect it from the key switch or the floor. there is a small plastic piece normally on the key side in which you remove to ensure trouble free usage. it should have 4 screws going into the bottom of the steering column, remove them and you should see the cable. they have a habit of stretching and then malfunctioning. just remove the screw holding it and unhook the end. it should work after that if not let me know

Key doesnt turn

dose your car have a key removal lock ? a lock you have to press befor you can remove the key ?
there is a shift over ride by your shifter. between/around the shifter and the radio (closer to the sifter) there is a small round plastic cover you can remove with a small flat head screw driver. remove this. you will a key or the screw driver and insert it into, what looks like a key hole for your car and turn/press (sorry for being vauge GMC's change year to year) this should allow you to move the shifter into park. make sure the car is off or at lest you have the E-brake on as well as your peddle brakes.

Need to change shift fork,

Transmission are kinda tricky. Yes you'll have to take the t-case off. Transmissions won't just fall apart when you break them open. But first things first. What's it doing. And if you don't really know anything about transmissions, I would give it to a shop to rebuild. Won't cost very much.
