Touch screen not working

To adjust the touchscreen sensitivity, perform the following:
1. Power the copier OFF.
2. Access the Key Operator Mode (Power the copier ON, while pressing the [HELP] key).
3. Touch [10. Control panel adjustment] on the touchscreen to display the control panel adjustment screen. Note: If the touchscreen is so far out of adjustment that there is no response when touching [10. Control panel adjustment], the control panel adjustment can be accessed (at this point) by touching any numeric key on the 10-key pad.
4. Touch the + at the upper right corner of the touchscreen lightly with a touch pen (something with a round tip which is made of resin is recommended as a touch pen). Check the coordinates displayed in the top line at the top of the touchscreen.
5. Ensure the X coordinate and the Y coordinate displayed in the message area fall within the standard values. The acceptable values are on the second line.
6. If the values are not within the acceptable parameters, repeat Step 4 until the values are acceptable.
7. Touch the + at the lower left corner of the touchscreen lightly with a touch pen (something with a round tip which is made of resin is recommended as a touch pen). Repeat the process used for the upper right coordinate until acceptable values are achieved.
8. As verification of a correct adjustment, touch the [CHECK] icon at the upper left and lower right corners. You should hear a beep tone for each one. If a beep tone is not heard, repeat the adjustment.
9. Power the copier OFF/ON to exit the Key Operator Mode.

this is most definitely a back light issue. refer to service personnel

It sounds like you may have two problems - one is easy, but without the other, its hard !!! If the touchscreen isn't working, it may simply be mis-calibrated and cant be accessed. To recalibrate the touchscreen from scratch, switch the machine on whilst, at the same time, pressing both of the two needle position buttons - the calibration screen should then come up and you should touch the screen where the dots are shown to recalibrate it. If, pressing the dots does not do anything, the probability is that your touch overlay or main control board is faulty, in which case you will need to take it to your Bernina agent. If you manage to re-calibrate the touchscreen OK, switch the machine off and back on again and if the display is still very grey but readable, you can adjust the contrast of the display by pressing the button with an arrow facing right, inside a box - this will take you to the user adjustment menu. Touch the display button that has a symbol with three vertical bars of different shades of grey and this will take you to a display that allows the brightness and contrast to be adjusted - touch the up or down buttons to get the best display contrast and once this is done, you should be all working again. If you are asking about the touchscreen of your desktop PC then I would suggest you go to control panel and look for ELO Control Panel where-in you will be guided to touch three targets on the screen. Then Verify the touchscreen if it is working and aligned properly. If you need to align further then go back to the ELO control panel and repeat the process.

what is it doing ?

if the touch screen feature is not working, and you cant navigate to the calibrate screen, push the off switch but release right away, so it dont turn off, it will bring up the calibrate operation, its a default to access the calibrate when you cant navigate the screens.

switch off the phone.. remove the batterya nd leave it for 1hour.. then again insert the battery and see what happens.. else do a firmware upgrade..

I found a solution for the LG KU990 Viewty touchscreen not responding problem. After thinking about twisting my phone, I came up with another solution which actually works every time. The touchscreen works via layers of plastic that when contact is made, a signal is triggered from the coordinates of the contact. However, when the phone has pressure, these layers of plastic stick together somehow. So, to fix it.... Get a small strip of adhesive tape that will not leave a sticky residue on your screen. Apply that tape in several spots on the surface of the screen, and lift it away from the phone with light pressure. Repeat this in several areas of the screen. That's it. You're done. Your screen should function properly. Simply recalibrate the touchscreen at this point in your settings menu. I hope it helps everyone with any type of touchscreen. I know it helped me. The touchscreen phones are totally useless using only the hard keys!
