What size should i make the enlcloser

If looking for LOUD, ported enclosure is the way to go.

If looking for accuracy, build sealed. You will need approx 2 cu ft
To tune this 2 cuft box around 50Hz, you need (1) 4" round port 5" long.

MTX recommends an enclosure of 2cuFt ea. You will only be able to use 1 subwoofer in this application.

Even a sealed enclosure is recommended 1.25cuFt.

You can shove 2 in the vented enclosure, but you may not be happy with the outcome

Speaker removal

Good day,
In your trunk there are 2 small amps. The first amp is connected to your car speakers. The second amp is connected to your subwoofer. Once you locate the subwoofer amp. Your subwoofer amp will be the amp close to the sub enclosure. Unplug the subwoofer from the amp. Your next step is to unscrew the 4 10mm bolts so that you can remove the sub enclosure. At this point you can now remove the enclosure. It will take a some time as it always seems to be up there pretty good. But once it starts to move it should come out with little work. I hope this helps with your removal of the subwoofer.

What size enclosure should I put these 10" woofers in

According to the specs for the 4710 subwoofer, I would recommend going with a 1.25 - 1.75 cubic foot sealed enclosure, or a 1.5-2.0 cubic foot ported enclosure (the port should be 3" or less in diameter and at least 10 inches long.

MTX 12'' sub noise

Sounds like your sub is overextending itself, and possibly losing contact at the voice coil. Overextending will make a weird rattling sound, losing contact at the voice coil will make a popping sound.

How much resin and hardener should i mix up, i'm building a fairly big subwoofer enclosure and i'm not sure how big of a batch to make....... this is my first fiber glass enclosure, but i want to get it...

fist you need to find out how much air space you need for each speaker thats going in the box then you will need a frame something light but durable you can get sound board from lowes thats wat you need to start with and when your mixing your hardener and fiber glass mix only a small amount at a time just a little hardener add to much and it will dry immediatly if you mix a lot of it at once you will waste most of it do it during the day it needs to be around 60 degrees to get it right

What enclosure do i need for cerwin vega v-max 124 12" sub

Just get a 12" sub box enclosure for an audio store near you or make a custom box, a larger box supposedly gives you more bass yet at the cost of boot space. I have a type R sub and the box is only as big as it needs to be for the sub to fit and it gives amazing bass.

Hello marne_glenn,

Here's a link to Lightning Audio's manual for the S3.10.4.

The minimum recommended size for a sealed enclosure is .5 CuFt. There is no recommendation for ported.

Hope this helps.

you'll get the highest spl in a sealed enclosure, but i dont think thats what your looking for.you want heavy vibrating soud,am i correct? a band pass box will give that to you in a close space.bass sounds better and louder the further away you get../.give me more info then ill give you a layout.but 4 now this might help or solve your problem
