What type of hard drive (brand/model) are you using? How many Gigs? 500GB? 1Terabyte? Is this a brand new hard drive?

Why does my laptop say system operator missing

System operating missing means that your laptop cannot find a operating system to start. This could be that your hard drive have crashed or overheated or the laptop is not detecting your harddrive. You might want to go into your bios menu and see if the bios is detecting your harddrive, and if it is not, it could be that your hard drive is bad. The only way to test this out is to take your harddrive and connect it to another computer to see if it is working. If it is working then there could be a loose connection between the hard drive and the laptop. If the bios detect your harddrive, then that means your operating system is currupted and needs to be fix or reinstall.

I have a k8u-x motherboard.. my problem is i cant install winxp in it because it doesnt detect any hardisk during the setup. All my floppy drives are damage as well as my floppies. Is there any way to...

Your trying to install windows 3.1 or 98 ? I have never seen Windows XP or newer on floppy disk is why I ask. That will not resolve your problem though. If you are sure you have the hard drive installed and connected with at least one of them set to Master, if you are installing 2, You may need to enter Bios and have it auto detect the Hard Drives in the Bios. If the Bios doesn't recognize the Hard drive or you have 2 hard drives and one isn't set to Master it won't matter what media you use you won't be able to install anything on the hard drive.

Laptop wont turn on

It means that the Hard Disk Drive that holds all your data and the WIndows Operating system is not being seen by the system BIOS. Remove and reseat the hard drive, see if it detects. If it doesn't then you'll be replacing the hard drive.

Toshiba qosmio g15 hard drive #2 not showing up on explore

First ensure the drive is seen in the BIOS, if not seen there, it will not be seen in Windows.
If detected and Identified in BIOS, then see if the drive is seen as Drive 1 in Disk Management. CONTROL PANEL, ADMIN TOOLS, COMPUTER MANAGEMENT, DISK MANAGEMENT. If it is listed in Disk Management but not assigned a drive letter, then right click the Disk 1 and INITIALIZE the Drive, then format it (Note: any data on the drive will be lost when initializing a drive)

My bios doesn't recognize my hard drive

Do the neccesary jumper cable settings. then manually detect it through your bios. If not detected, try to replace the ide cable. if still not detected, try to feel the hard drive if it spins, if not, the had drive is damage.

Hard drive

Make sure your jumpers on your hard drive are properly set. Also, test another cable to rule out that your IDE cable hasn't faulted. You can also go into your bios settings on startup and check to make your hard drive is detected, if not run the auto detection and see if it is seen then.

Harddisk

Check the jumper settings on the back of the drive, if this is the primary HD, set it to master, if secondary, set it to slave, if secondary still does not recognize, switch the ide cable so that the two drives are not on the same one.
