Hi Danda,
About 98% of the time on a Whirlpool built Kenmore such as yours the problem with automatic defrosting is the "defrost timer". It's super easy to repair. You can get one from Sears, a local appliance parts retailer or just about anywhere online (just plug this part number---> 482493 <--- into a search engine and price shop)
Here's a diagram I made. It details the repair. Number 4 says "ADC", don't worry. There are two types of defrost timers one is an ADC and another is yours. They both follow the same repair procedure, OK?
Here's a full size diagram of your machine. You'll see that there is no difference other than the type of defrost timer.
NOTE---> UNPLUG YOUR FRIDGE BEFORE DOING THIS REPAIR!!! Otherwise, you'll look like this permanently.I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 106.59502992 that - 9b06122.jpgg data-src="/uploads/images/9b06122.jpg" alt="9b06122.jpg" class="h_mi" />
There ya go, Danda! Remember I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 106.59502992 that - 20bfc70.jpgs solution as "FixYa" WillYa?

Check the evaporator fan in the box listen near the upper inside back there is usually a grill it probably has stopped turning: this causes the air to not circulate in the two areas the freezer and the fridge. the fan is hard to hear if this is not the problem you have a ice obstruction in the freon coils and the machine must be recharged
