I have a canon pixma mg2520 and I have linux mint 15. The Canon Website says that there are no drivers available for my OS. Is there a compatible driver that I can use so that my printer can work?

Yes there are Universal Print drivers that can be used.. but it would take a Google search to find them. Also I'm pretty sure your printer should work already without the need for more drivers on Linux..... I bought a Canon PIXMA MG2520 Multifuntion Printer/Scanner/Copier & I Downloaded a ip2700 Driver & my printer works fine,I'm not sure about Scanning to computer function.

P.S.The PIXMA MG2520 is sold for Windows/Mac O.S. I didn't realize this till after I bought my Printer.

SOURCE: I had install all the available drivers for Canon

The 2900 driver should work for the 2900E. The problem may be that there is a:

Canon SENSYS i-LBP-2900, and

Canon Laser Shot LBP-2900

Which printer do you have? Which driver did you download?

How to scan a document with Canon Pixma printer MG2520

Maybe you should read the user's manual? I've reas cutomer's review at Amazon and looks users have no problem with the scanning feature of this printer. If you don't have the manual, get it from here:

Where is the scan button and how do I scan?

The scan function can be performed by using either IJ Scan or ScanGear software from your PC and it is available from Canon support centre.

Follow this link and download the user manuals and software to set up the scan function.
