My 24o0 pressure washer pump has failed. Unbolted

My Karcher 2400 pressure washer pump has failed. Unbolted the pump but it won't come off from the engine. Spins but acts like it is key locked. WHat is the trick to getting it off?

Thank you for the valuable information. As I continued searching for a solution to my problem I tried the tip of cleaning the buildup of minerals in the unloader. THis is simple to do by removing the silver button on the black plastic cover on the pump. Then remove the two star drive screws and take out the unloader under the spring. If it doesn't come out, hook up the water and start the engine with a towel over the unloader to catch the squirting water and the unloader when it jumps out. Clean off deposits and lubricate piston thorougly with lithium grease. Replaced parts and it worked like new!!!!

    THanks again.

Dear 1tindy,
You asked what the trick is. Well it is a trick, and in fact a big hasle. When a pump has failed it is never removed from the engine or from rhe electric motor(if electric motor driven.). To service the pump only the head and its components must be removed. When these are removed and the oil drained, you see a swash plate that is held down by a bolt. The swah plate could also be fitted by force fitting. After the swash plate there is an oil seal then a bearing. So if for a reason you must remove the pump from the engine you must do all these steps. In a few words....Remove head, remove piston holding head, drain oil, remove swash plate and finally the pump can be pulled away, but with some force,..because there are bearings. I wish to repeat that if the engine has no trouble, do not remove pump from engine. Just service or replace parts of the head of the pump.
Regards,
Fulltech.

No pressure / Karcher G 2400 HH

Hi ruthkapres:
Here is a diagram. The unloader/spill valve is #12 on page D2 or F2 depending on your model. You must pull it out, inspect the o-rings for dents or tears and make sure the valve is lubricated with a good water proof lubricant.

I have a karcher 2400 psi pressure washer and it doesnt get water pressurized when pulling wand trigger.

the most comon problem with thease is a stuck bypass valve, this is the valve that alowes the water to bypass round the pump when the triger is closed, when they stick all of your pressure runs around the pump and not out of your nozzle,,
its located in the centre of the pump on the top, undo the 2 cap screws pull out valve greese and re fit

Difficult to know from here, check all the screws see if there was a required strenght on some of the screws. You should take it apart and assemble again.
