Post op convergence fix

So following advice from the site I installed some stk392-150's, to replace my dead 110's. Well all was good for like 30 seconds. Now all I get is a high pitched beeping noise and a flashing power light. No picture no sound. Please help.

Why did you change amps from 110 to 150, you need to go with original. Regardless of the watts or amperes the set is designed to have original in it. Now there are fuses in the convergence area. So look for them and also you should have changed the return resistors the 4 resistors in this area, did you?

Thats usually indicating the ICs have failed. Usually with that model its best to replace the board rather than try replacing the individual components as ther are several 3.9 ohm resistors that will need to be checked and possibly replaced along with both ICs. should have the replacement board for your model if you need one.

Color convergence problem

If you follow the instructions on the other thread, you should be able to resolve the problem. Try the simple stuff first. Resolder the pins of the convergence ICs and see if that alone resolves the problem. Sometimes that is all it takes.

Only use the same part number when replacing convergence amps, or you will need to replace all of the power resistors with recommended values for the convergence amps subsituted.

This website:

says your model uses the STK393-110 convergence chip. Another site I looked at said that was a 6 channel amplifier so I'm guessing you only need one to repair your TV.

If you do some google searches on "stk392-110 convergence problem" you'll find some good sites that discuss how to repair the tv. The STK392-110 is a convergence amplifier that is used any many other sets.

Good luck.
