Question about Dell 948 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My Dell AIO 948 printer is not scanning correctly. I have a yellow ! on the printer in the device manager. I have asked Dell three times to assist me in resolving this conflict. First two times they reinstalled the drivers - did not fix the problem and actually created a new one where Adobe does not work properly in the Dell All-In-One Center. The third time - they sent a refurbished printer - same problems. Obviously something conflicting with the printer drivers in my computer. My computer system is Dell Dimension E310.

CAN THE DELL AIO 948 PRINTER BE USED FOR SHARING

Yes, If it is connected to a computer on your home network, right click the printer, setup sharing. For example, if you have a laptop on the same home network, Add a network printer to the laptop and print wirelessly without a wireless printer. This may help clarify: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-a-printer-on-a-home-network OR http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Install-a-printer-on-a-home-network

When I scan from the flat scanner of my AIO 948, the 1st pg frequently comes out with a retangular black area & when I scan from the auto-feeder, it has a line down the right side.

I've got exactly the same problem and am fearing that it is the bulb. The scanner glass is clean, and everything is connected and wroking correctly except for the annoying black lines. It is even worse when I try to make copies of something.

Scaning . . . Scanning. . .. not scanned

Not sure if this is the correct way around, but it worked.  Go to Start --> All programs --> Dell Printers --> Dell Photo AIO Printer 922 --> Dell All-in-one center

From here, you can determine and change your scan settings as needed;  then click "scan now" (thus by-passing the button on the actual AIO machine).  This scanned photos into my picture program so I could email to all the grandparents!
