Green blinking light

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65713. The green blinking light comes on randomly at times and will not reset. I have tried everything from callin the help line in the owners manual, unplugging, etc.. The last time this happend it took 12 hours to reset where we could watch it. Does anybody have a clue on the cause? It is plugged into a Monster surge protector. Randy

I had ths problem with the blinking green light on the 65" Mitsubishi. The first guy had it two weeks and could not repair it. The second guy fixed it on the spot. He specialized in Mitsubishi repair. It was the (4) capastors all the time. Price--$285.00 total. Anyone having this problem with the TV not turning on and the green light blinking should have a Mitsubishi expert fix it. Not a run of the mill big screen repairman. I was without my TV a total of 3 weeks when it could have been much sooner had I listened to everybody on this site who said it was the 4 caps.

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)

Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 UFD 16) on the DM PCB, if they are bad replace them with part # 181P734030 (680 UFD 16 V). LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds.

Mitsubishi WS-65713 Blinking green light. TV will not turn on!

These Mits TV's tend to have power supply problems that are well documented on the web, when the symptom is as you describe. And this assumes no other unusual noises were heard before the TV went into shutdown.

The repairs are fairly straight forward if you are comfortable with electro-mechanical dis-assembly, soldering repair, and re-assembly.

Just do a search on Mitsubishi (your model number) and capacitors.

Diane,

I do not have the service manual but have instructions with pictures. Will email them to you. If you have never soldered check look for instructions on utube and with some practice you will be able to de-solder and solder. A utube video that is great is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_NU2ruzyc4. Good luck.

Blinking green light

I had the same problem and just fixed it. You likely have 4 bad capacitors in your DM board. To fix you will have to take the DM board out of the TV, de-solder the ones on there and then solder on new capacitors. For those who would like instructions on this leave me your email and I will email them to you. I can't believe I was able to do this but thanks to Jaime for giving me the instructions and checking how to solder on Utube. No I had never soldered before guess it shows you can do it with some effort.
