If you are using the microsoft anti spyware app then I would get rid of that and use spybot search and destroy and if you have the tea timer running then disable that as that may do it.

also if you go to http://www.hijackthis.de and download the utility and run it and save the log to your desktop and then go to the same site and scroll to the bottom and click on the browse button and upload the log file and it will analyse it for you and you use the same utility to remove anything in internet explorer that it states is dodgy ie it has a red cross.

Also if you get a squared and avg free and update the virus defintions on both and run those ( I suggest you update the defintions first and reboot into safe mode with networking and then run the scans )

Also if you have system restore enabled disable that whilst you run the scans and then delete the old system restore points unless you want to keep them and then re enable system restore

I changed the IP address on belkin f5d8236-4 v2 and can't get into homepage to reset the IP adress. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Restore it to facgtory default:

Turn off power
Depress the reset button on the bottom of the router.
Keep the reset button pressed and turn the power on.
Release the reset button after 10 seconds.
The default IP should be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
Default passwords vary, but it is usually "admin."

Hope this helps,

I dont know how to close Default homepage protection

Right click the internet explorer icon and press properties change the homepage using this. Change it to http://www.google.com and see if it works, it could just be a javascript command. Otherwise download avg and zonealarm and do a full system sweep with avg and run internet explorer while running zonealarm and see if anything tries to access the internet other than Internet Explorer.

hope this does it for you, please leave rating, thank you
