When was the last time you cleaned your drive?

A lot of times this simple thing cures "cannot read" errors, which is essentially what you have. We both know there is data on the disk, just getting to it......

If that fails, you may need to replace the drive.

Do you mean that it is not autolaunching or that it is in fact empty?

If it is in fact empty, I would take it back to the retailer or person you bought it from.

Try it on a diffrent computer it works replace the Drive. there is no way a disk can be empty if its a factory orginal its kinda impossiable. Check your drive. Also make sure the disk is free of scratches,

Hope this helps

I need to reinstall windows xp home edition i have the product code but no disk

I have used full install/ disk from other brands of computers (or other dell model numbers)to reinstall operation system (must be winxphome, dont worry about service pack, you can update). If you use any dell reinstallation cd, most likely you will not have to enter your key. If you use any other computer brand, or borrow someones xphome full install disk (not upgrade), then you will need to enter your key. Only problem of using for example emachine full install disk is that is will have emachine themes. Also you will likely need to down load other drivers. You are not lemited to to using reinstall cd for your model number. Good luck

Hi, I bought a laptop from a dealer, 8 years ago. It had a Vista windows on. When it crashed a few days ago, I realized I did not get a windows and word C.D. with it, it was loaded on to my laptop....

The key at the bottom is likely to be an OEM key and will only work with an OEM disk. You can contact the dealer and they should provide you with the disk, or even better a restore disk. Failing that you'll have to procure one, legally!

Office Pro 03 CD won't load

Seems your disk has lost its ability to retain data. Usually poor quality disks do this after 2 to 6 years from my experience. Also its possible that the disk is outright BAD. Check the underside for any pit holes or scratches to confirm this. Got scared the first time I saw this. Also, if data CD, you CDRW may fail to write without any prompts. So you store an empty disk as if it contains data.

Product key activated max

When you install MS Office, it is a single user license. If you install it on more than one computer you are violating the license agreement this message will appear.
If you have re-installed MS Office on this computer because the hard disk was wiped or on a new replacement hard disk, when you activate MS Office do not activate via the Internet but activate it by phone, and tell the operator that the hard disk was wiped and that MS Ofice was re-installed on the same computer.

"how to disable hard disk password in System utility of win xp

This is a Tough one!
If you dont mind loosing all your files
You can test to take the harddisk out from the computer and put it in an another computer as "slave disk"
Boot the computer and start.
You will find your drive in "my computer"
Try to do a total format.
If this does not work, put the disk back to its original settings and back to its original computer and try this:
Windows/DOS unlock Note: This requires taking the Archos apart, which will void your warranty!
  1. Grab atapwd (written by Alex Mina)
  2. Create a bootable DOS floppy disk, and put atapwd.exe on it
  3. Remove the harddisk from your Archos and plug it into a laptop (or a standard PC, using a 3.5" => 2.5" IDE adapter)
  4. Boot from the floppy and run atapwd.exe
  5. Select the locked harddrive and press enter for the menu
  6. For Fujitsu disks: Choose "unlock with user password", then "disable with user password". The password is empty, so just press enter at the prompt.
  7. For Toshiba and Hitachi disks, if the above doesn't work: Choose "unlock with master password", then "disable with master password". The password is all spaces.
  8. Your disk is now unlocked. Shut down the computer and remove the disk.
Big thanks to Magnus Andersson for discovering the Fujitsu (lack of) user password!

Hope this helped!!! it it did, Please vote!

I can't re install windows XP Pro on my IBM T30 2366-86u

its oem, you either need IBMs restore cd for your particular laptop (model) or an xp pro (any service pack will do) OEM disk.
You can not get the OEM disk at best buy, circuit city target etc those are retail versions and will not work. Newegg.com or frys electronics are your best bet, but by buying it from them you are getting another copy of xp pro, just use the cd with the keycode on your laptop and then you can install xp pro on another pc using the code that came with the disk. MAKE SURE YOU ARE GETTING AN OEM VERSION AND NOT A RETAIL VERSION.

Some technical stuff:
For the xp pro disk you MUST have the COA product key available, this is usually on the bottom of your laptop, for IBMs disk you just have to have an IBM WITH an IBM motherboard as without the motherboard it will not work. For example, the motherboard goes out and you replace it with a non ibm board it will only boot for 3-5 times, the ideaa is that this gives you time to get your documents off. This is per Microsoft agreement with ibm and all other Original equipment manufactures this include hp, dell etc.

sorry if this is too technical for you please let me know.
