Your local Janome Dealer will have these, or be able to order them for you.....if you go to the Janome website for your country there will be a Dealer Locator page to find the nearest one.....or the phonebook may help.

I broke my spool completely off on my brother 350

The spool "pin?" Search for:

Make Model replacement parts

Sometimes you can create a replacement using a plastic drinking straw, a shortened chopstick, etc. On the other hand, there are stand-alone thread holders that can be purchased on the internet. It is usually okay to set a bobbin holder on the table behind the machine.

Replacing spool holder

If you search online for:

Make + Model + "replacement parts"

you may find a replacement. Otherwise, you can usually manufacture a spool holder using a drinking straw, wooden skewer, or something similar. There are also standalone spool holders for sale at various web sites. The spool holder doesn't necessarily have to be attached to your machine but can set behind or to the side of it. Some sewists throw the thread spool in a big coffee cup and just let it bounce around in there.

Serial #N112375 would like to know year and model number - missing spool holder

Need to know the make & model to assist. You can search the internet inputting:

Make + Model + the word "parts"

You can probably also take it to a sewing machine repair shop and see if they can get a replacement. Something could also be homemade using a small wooden dowel, chopstick, plastic drinking straw. There are also standalone thread spool holders available on the internet.

Horizontal spool holder

Check the local sewing repair shop to see if they can order it for you. You can also search the internet for the manufacturer, model and the word "parts" to see if there are any online suppliers for your machine. If you are creative, you may be able to jerryrig something using a plastic drinking straw, chopstick, or a wooden dowel.

How do I replace the main spool holder?

Replacing the spool holder requires removal of the front cover (which basically requires removing all covers). Unless you're an avid do-it-yourselfer, you would be better off having it done. While it's not a complicated job, you have to do it with great care so as not to damage wiring harnesses, gaskets, etc. If you tackle the job, get a service manual and make sure you have the necessary tools. You most likely will have to get a replacement spool holder beforehand.

How to fill a bobbin on Virtuosa 150

Put the thread spool on the vertical spool holder with a sponge pad underneath. Wind the thread off the spool and through the small wire thread guide next to the spool holder. Take the thread across the top of the sewing arm to the tension unit just next to the gap in the case through which the thread is normally threaded - the tension unit looks like the top of a shiny screw without the slots in it. Wind the thread in a clockwise direction around the tension unit once and pull the thread with a bit of tension until it slips into the sprung gap around the underside of the shiny part. Slip the end of the thread through one of the holes in the bobbin and, preferably, wind a few turns on, then push the bobbin onto the bobbin winder shaft at the right-hand end of the top of the machine. Turn the bobbin clockwise by hand a few more times to make sure the thread is 'locked' onto the bobbin and then just push the lever adjacent to the bobbin winder to the left. To wind the bobbin, you then press the foot controller and either stop when you've got enough thread on the bobbin or let it stop automatically when full. Make sure you dont go so fast that the spool rattles-around on the spool holder otherwise this could spoil the way the bobbin gets filled.
