Put a filter in the water supply line going to your ice maker more than likely it is rust from the inside of the water lines

this happened to me also. its the coating (paint) flaking off the inside. you can scrape/clean the
loose coating inside or just get a replacement unit. (i did)

The ice from my ice maker has small particles in it that look like flecks of paint or metal. I have stainless bottom freezer Kenmore with ice/water in door.

Hello,

To assist ice from popping out of the frozen mold of the icemaker it is coated with nonstick teflon,just like the teflon on your cookware.That teflon is flaking off of the icemaker mold and the icemaker must be replaced.All you need to do to replace it unscrew it from the side freezer wall,unplug it and instatll new one. The part number is 4317943 you could purchase it at your local appliance parts store on online at;

My whirlpool ice maker makes ice but it builds an ice dam and ice cicles on the back of the unit.

there might be a crack in the mold of the icemaker. you can unplug the fridge and take out the icemaker. there should be three 1/4" screws holding it in place. visually inspect the icemaker mold the see if its cracked or flaking. if it is, the icemaker needs replacing. hope this helps.

Undissolved minerals can appear when ice cubes are added to chilled drinking water. Freezing tap water causes dissolved minerals to solidify and scatter, giving a cloudy appearance. When ice cubes melt, any undissolved minerals settle to the bottom. These mineral compounds in our drinking water are naturally occurring and safe.
Sometimes we see black particles which can be the non-stick surface of the ice mold flaking off.

My U-Line ice maker somehow leaks water inside the freezer and a layer of ice builds up on the bottom below and to the sides of the ice container. It continues to build until ice container is not...

You can have a couple of things causing this. First do you see flakes in the ice cubes? Yes replace the icemaker. No then I would remove the cover off the icemaker (pry on the corners and pull) Check to see if the motor gears is rusty. If yes then its causing the motor to run slow and overfillilg the icemaker. You can also check to make sure the fill tube is pointing downward in the water cup of the icemaker. If that looks goo then it cold be the matter of replaceing the faceplate of the icemaker. That would replace the switch, motor and gears.

Black particles coming out of the room air conditioner

dirt, dust, or mold. could also be the tubing insulation flaking off. either way, open it up and clean it out. the dirt, dust, and flaking insulation can restrict air flow through the coils and cause the ac to not function properly. if it is mold, it's can cause sickness (legionaire's disease). do not use chemicals on the coils. it might be best to replace the ac alltogether. to prevent mold: when installing the ac, make sure the unit is slightly tipped towards the outside. any condensation that collects on the coils will drain out. failure to do so will result in water pooling inside, and this can cause mold.

Water leaks out of ice making trays with making

What model is this? Is the unit leveled? DO you have flakes in the cubes? Is the fill tube pointing downward> there should be a clip that holds the filltube down. If all this is ok then remove the cover of the icemaker. Is the gears corroided? If so then I would recommend to replace the faceplate. This would change the motor 2 switches and the gears. Part #150 should fix it.
If your getting flakes then you need to replace the icemaker. If the fill tube clip is missing then you will need to replace this.

Dirty ice

Hi, Remove the ice maker and look at the tray the cubes are made in. You will probably find the casing is flaking off. All you can do is replace the icemaker.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Water leaks inside unit wher selenoid calls for water

The fill tube that goes into the water cup of the icemaker make sure its in with a clip on the cup to hold it downwards. Sometimes the clip is off and the tube sprays out of the icemaker. Also check to see if flakes are in the ice. That would mean that the teflon is peeling off and forcing the water out of the icemaker.

Ice Maker has some black stuff in water

check the ice-maker itself, it has a teflon coating (like a frying pan) that sometimes flakes off leaving little black flakes in the ice. if this is the case you have to change the ice-maker.
