Im not sure what the bran model name is :S. The box does not say and neither do the instructions, they just say JPEG PC video camera. The box has a symbol on the front, looks like a P and then and upside down P next to it. I really need help with this please.

I'm afraid there's no such driver, but please take another look at you webcam closely and try to find any number, could be also a serial number. (On the bottom, top, left, right..) Or you can try to replug your webcam to your PC then maybe Windows can tell you what your device's brand is. (A popup will come and either it will show a name or show it as unidentified) You can also try to let Windows search the internet for the driver automaticly when you plug your webcam. Anyway, If you can give any details about the device, we can find a solution. Hope this helps.

My webcam doesnt work

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.

But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.

Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c Windows Vista: DirectX 10).
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer

If you still have no webcam installed

Run the "Add a device"application, accessed by clicking on the "Start" button, opening the "Control Panel," and then double-clicking on "Add a device."

The "Add a device" window will open and Windows will search for devices connected to your system but not installed.

Click on the webcam name that shows in the search box and then click "Next."

Choose whether you want Windows to search for the webcam device driver using Windows Update over the Internet, or if you'd prefer to have the device manager search for the driver using a disc supplied by your laptop manufacturer.

Most drivers can be found on the system recovery disc included with your laptop, if you choose to add the driver from the provided disc.

Place a check in the box next to your choice and then click "Next" to continue.
Wait while Windows searches from the driver using Windows Update, if this was your choice.

An active Internet connection is required for Windows to successfully do this.
Allow the computer to install the driver and then reboot the system for the webcam to become recognized by the system.

Otherwise, you can use the system recovery disc or a driver downloaded directly from your laptop manufacturer to install the driver without using the Windows Update search feature.

Open the CD/DVD-ROM drive and insert the system recovery disc, or place the driver downloaded from the manufacturer in an easily accessed file directory on your PC, such as on the desktop, or in your "My Documents" folder.

Choose the option "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" in the "Add a device" application, and press "Next" to begin searching for your webcam driver.

The hardware wizard will search the system recovery disc and install the driver automatically. Press "Finish" to close the wizard and then reboot the computer to allow recognition of the webcam.

Choose the option "Install the software manually" in order to browse to the driver location where you saved the driver and install it from there.

Use the opened file manager and locate the driver.
Click the "Next" button to install the driver, then reboot the computer to add webcam functionality.

Hello

The Creative Webcam Instant, like other computer devices, requires driver software. Once the driver is downloaded and installed, all you have to do is connect the webcam to your computer.

Click "Start" and then go to "Control Panel."

Click on "Category View" in the left pane of the "Control Panel" dialog box if you are in "Classic View." Click on "Performance and Maintenance."

Click on "System Restore" in the left pane of the Performance and Maintenance dialog box.

Click on the circle next to the wording "Create a restore point." Click "Next."

Enter a name for the restore point in the box under the heading "Restore point description:." Click "Create." The restore point will be created and your system will return to a working state within minutes. This process keeps your system safe in case there is an error.

Open your computer's Internet browser.

visit the Creative WebCam Instant driver's website.

Click on your computer's operating system name: or "Show all available drivers."

Click on the link "Download Creative-Labs WebCam Instant Creative WebCam Center v.1.71.02 driver."

Click "Save" when prompted. Navigate to the directory where the file is saved. Double-click on the file to open it.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the driver installation.

Plug the Creative WebCam Instant's connection cable into any available Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on your computer. Your computer will recognize the camera and process the camera's driver.

Open a chat client like Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live or similar application.

Click on the "Webcam" setting within the chat client to activate and use the Creative WebCam Instant camera.

I need more info... What is the operating system installed on your computer?

Have you every run Windows update recently?

Is this the first time you install this software?

Give me the brief description about your system's configuration.

There must be some error code/s with the "Access violation/denied...." if so, give me the full error message, there are several similar errors with similar codes, but the fixes and diagnostic measures are different...
Thanks...
