Sony KV-32HX15U Flashing standby light

My TV just turned itself off and now won;t turn back on - the standby light flashes green/red , that's all. I turned it off and on, the standyby light was green for a second but then started flashing again. Any thoughts - is it worth getting fixed or getting something new? Thanks A

Thanks for your suggestions. Can you explain what you mean by the tv and reset buttons on the remote control.

The TV button is obvious but what is the reset button? Unfortunately the first 3min suggestion didn;t work.

A service centre have said that the LOPT could have failed costing about £150. What is the LOPT and do you think this is likely?

    Thanks again.

Did you ry to unplug from the wall for at least 3 min then plug back in if that does not work try pushing the tv button and reset at the same time on the remote for 1 min if this does not work please take it to a repair center

Hi. Thats a nice tv you have there. If your able to get free estimate from repair shop go for it. It could only be dry joints but it could be loptx & other components which could be pricey.

Sony Trinitron KV-28LS36U no sound or picture, the standby light flashing green and red but if i switch it on a little bit of sound comes and then switches off. how can i repair?

The unit is shutting itself down because a problem was detected internally. When this happens, the standby light should blink a repeated pattern. Please count the number of blinks and post the number here. That will indicate the circuit in which the problem occurred.

Thanks,
Dan
