You would need to be a Microsoft Certified Partner to download a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate from their MSDN website. I cannot imagine it being available for free (legally). You may download Service Packs for free but not the product. You can purchase Vista Ultimate as an upgrade from office supply stores on sale occasionally.

I agree with india, Currently Vista has a lot of issues, and for a more modern operating system it has a lot to be desired, currently XP is more appreciated than vista, I myself will wait for Sp2 and Maybpe Sp3 to be reliesed , i hardly doubth more of the issues will be corrected with just one more service pack. If you are going to try it do so on a machine you will be willing to format again
