Question about RCA T13208 13 in. TV/VCR Combo

1 Answer

RCA T13060GY While I was watching TV,suddenly the tape I had in the VCR came out,it happened before so i didn't pay much attention. Later on the TV went off. When I tried to turn it on I see the Record light on and no picture at all. The tv stays off even when the power is on at the same time the red record button light is on. I look inside the VCR while the TV is power on and I see something moving inside, like if it was stuck. I don't want to mess up with it since I know nothing about electronics. So that's it, everytime I turne TV on, the Record light goes On and no picture, no nothing, screen looks like the tv was off. My warranty expired,I'm very fond of this TV and I would appreciate any help. Thanks

It's been off for days already. I live alone nobody else comes here. I never recorded or set it up for anything. I just watch either TV or a VCR tape on this unit. I tried it again today, when I plug it in the power and record light comes up and no matter what I do they won't go away until I umplug the unit again.

You or someone may have press record and the set is in record mode. that way whatever time it's set for it will come on. Or you have to unplug to reset. Leave off for atleast 1hour then plug back in.

VCR won't record, just ejects tape

You have not mentioned the make and model number of the vcr. Any way the problem is due to end sensor or related circuit. End sensors are photo diods which you can check the shorting with a multy meter.

My Samsung TV work fine. My RcA VHS VCR when I want to record the screen said WEAK or NO SIGNAL

VCRs use Channel three or Four to watch the tape. It is better if you use the video out on the VCR to go IN to the TV video In on a modern TV.
For record, the VCR cannot see Digital TV. You must connect the Digital TV box or satellite box Video Out to the Video In on the VCR.

My TV has coaxial inlet only. Can I connect a Toshiba SD-1300 DVD Player? Thanks

  • You can but you have to add one of two things to make the DVD player with a coax only TV.

  • One you buy a VCR with coax and RCA inputs and outputs. They are cheap enough these days and serve more than one purpose as you can watch VHS tapes as well as run the DVD player to your VCE through the RCA cables. Then run your VCR to your TV and back to the VCR both through your coax. To watch DVD you would need your VCR and DVD player on as well and for VHS you would beed the VCR on only.

  • What it does is provide the RCA input and output your TV does not have. RCA from the DVD to the box and the box run a coax to the TV and that's it for this way.

Cannot tape on vcr with new dvd-vcr player

You need to route the signal from the cable modulator to the DVR and then to the TV to be able to view and record. If this is done you will be able to watch what you are recording. When you are not recording, the signal will go through the DVR to the TV.
Please change the cabling and you should have what you want.

RCA TV/VCR combo T13060GY won't go below channel 5

I had a similar trouble with a couple of tv sets, one was a Granada and the other a Sony, but once connected to the satellite or digi-box via the scart socket it seemed to concentrate it's mind and override all the channels - so the tv stops being a tv set but becomes a monitor displaying whatever analogue video signal the digi-box sends to it.

The channels should arrive from the satellite receiver/decoder box and that remote control is all you need and the only thing you need to touch the monitor tv for will be the volume...

Scart sockets and plugs are apt to become dirty and unreliable and are responsible for many problems, including once a blue screen.

Connecting vcr to tv

Find Video & Audio Out pins at back of Combo player. This is output signal which will be connected at Video & Audio Input at front of TV. Watch out video pin will go to video input. Now select AV input of TV by remote. Usually its AV-4.
Have fun, or need more info, let me know the out comes.

Troubleshooting vcr

Usually one connects a RF [cable tv, Dish tv, antenna ] cable to the INPUT of VCR & a RF cable output to tv (antenna )INPUT .The reason is that if you are watching TV reception (Cable, Dish, etc) and you want to watch VCR tape, just push the tape in and it should start playing picture.
From what I understand that you are trying to say:: [ YOUR NEW TV ! ] you MUST connect to the RCA jacks, CABLE S with RCA plugs that come out of the VCR to the new TV [ INPUT & OUTPUT] jacks .When you ["" use input botton on VCR remote"" ] you are using a DIFFERENT input signal. You are not letting the TV know that you are changing the signal from RF(antenna, Cable, Dish, etc)to the RCA signal ["" I use my input botton on my vcr remote""]

Can not tape from cable, blue screen

If you have a cable box connected now, leave the VCR on channel 3 all the time and use the channels from the cable box.
The way this should be connected is cable in to cable box and cable out to VCR, VCR output to TV IN.
Hope this works for you.

VCR repeatedly tries to play and eject when tape deck is empty

the tape carriage is probably stuck, or something stuck inside blocking the tape sensor.
feed a tape in and see if it does it "with" the tape too
