Those "battery looking things" are called capacitors. You could replace them if you know how to solder but it is likely that some other problem on the card caused them to fail.

Replacement is your best option. You could contact the manufacturer of your card (Nvidia has a list here) and ask about repair or replacement if the card is under warranty.

My rebel xsi won't turn on. there is nothing. I used it yesterday and it was fine. I changed the battery and still nothing! HELP!

Hi please try to do this and let me know. Remove the battery and give a look inside the battery compartment with spot light. Make sure that place are clean and there no damaged mark. Specially look the Battery connector pins. That should in proper place , not bend, not even sulfur layer there. Use ear buds and drop of alcohol for cleaning. After checking if every thing Ok then some how the power supply not able to connect the circuit board. Its happens when the connectivity cable disconnected or damaged, circuit board short or the power transformer stop working. For all this internal fault part confirmation you need to visit electronic repair center.

but before visit for repairing make sure the battery which one you use that's is fully charged with working condition. Thank you

Fix a slow running computer by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Now try updating your device drivers through control panel as beautifully explained by Bronk50 .

Thanks

My pc was initially restarting when ever i started a game but now it restarts even when i open a media player.i have hp d330 motherboard 1 gb ddr1 ram 160 gb hard disk geforce fx 5600 (256 mb)...

I have a PixelView NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 (click on the link to see it) graphics card and my computer started doing very strange things with my video and was locking up my computer. I pulled the card out and looked at the capacitors on it and saw the tops of them were bulging and stuff was leaking from them. The capacitors are the green cylinders with the silver tops and the gold/yellow writing. I replaced the capacitors and that fixed the problem but it would be easier to just replace the video card.

Abit GD8 Pro video card best support?

the best video card depends on what you want to do with it. if you only plan to watch movies, it's no use of spending lots of money on a high-end graphics adapter. if you're more of a hardcore gamer, then the only thing i could say is this: look for a graphics card with as much video memory and as high a clock speed as possible. and try to avoid the brand MSI in combo with Abit system boards, since this may cause hardware conflicts and compatibility issues...

My screen only shows color stripes when i turn it on. Is it a graphic card problem?

It can be a graphics card problem as this issue comes when there is no signal to the Monitor from the Graphics Card. Other issues might be damaged cable connecting the monitor to the CPU or when the graphics card is not properly inserted in the motherboard.

ABIT IP35V, LONG and Continues Beep when There is a Geforce GT8800 video card installed.

Beep by motherboard are due to hardware problems. It's either the hardware is problem or it's not properly connected. Try check your RAM or graphic card weather it is fix properly. And also try to check your jumper connector. Sometimes one of the jumper connector may be damage and create the beep sound.

Hi Naida, A while back I had a computer that was having all kinds of video issues after it had been on for a little bit. I pulled the video card out and like you was able to free spin the fan and didn?t see any dust worth mentioning. Also like you I ran the computer with the case open to verify the fan was actually spinning but noticed there really wasn?t much air being moved. I removed the fan from the card and to my surprise found that the cards heatsink directly underneath the center of the fan was blocked with a solid ball of dust I couldn't see before. Cleaned that out, reassembled and I was good to go. If that doesn?t do it you might consider replacing the card fan. They?re small, cheap and run full board on gaming machines. Since you?ve gotten some messages indicting your software detects 0 rpm it would be a logical and cheap thing to try. Let us know if this works and please don?t forget to rate this post.
