Dead Control Panel - F7

I have a similar problem that DeadOven posted on 1/22/07, but my oven would automatically turn on the broiler, beep until I hit the clear button. It would repeat this several times then the code F7 would appear. Now the panel is locked. I wassn't sure what Krazytech meant by the ribbon cable. Where is this found and will this solve my problem?

Re: Dead Control Panel - F7

Easiest fix: open the circuit breaker for the stove...wait a minute and reset. Should get you going.

My frigidaire oven model es400 while cooking in oven, it started beeping and a code of f7 flashed on all control panel Windows. Not oven is higher temp than listed

Hey Scott, thank you for your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire range is displaying an error code of "F7" and it is beeping. Typically, "F7" stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the "F7" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt

I had an F7 error code and followed the troubleshooting advice the error code and beepig have stopped. Now I try to turn the oven on and set to bake and the broiler comes on.

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F7 on your range means that the keypad is shorted or stuck and to resolve this issue you'll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC). Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

The lcd scrren on my range displays F7 in red and flashes d6 in g

The code is because of bad keypad/the control panel.Have it changed. It probably non-functional and constant beeping sound is followed as you mentioned.Theres a link to explain more about this for reference. The only solution is to replace the control panel.

GE Profile Gas Range oven turns off

I just read that the electronic panel malfunctions due to rear burner use. Now, I know that mine gets REALLY HOT in between the back burners (where the heat exhaust for the oven is) whenever I bake/broil. I am guessing that it can cause the same malfunction fromt he oven, as with the backburners. Whenever I use both back burners, mine shows F7 E6, too. Unplugging it for the night or just waiting til the beeping stops and then clearing it works... until I cook again. I read that the replacement part for the control panel is about $300 and another $200, more or less, to install it! I think this is more like a recall or manufacturer's problem. I have read plenty of complaints and I think GE needs to make a call to fix them!!

the broiler came on automatically??? not a sensor issue. sounds as if you have a broken wire perhaps, or a faulty control panel energizing the broil element w/o being prompted to. does it say its broiling when element comes on??

Whirlpool oven

When I had a similar problem, the door wouldn't unlock even after unplugging, waiting 30 minutes, and plugging the oven back in. I finally had to manually unlock the oven by turning the lock latch motor myself.

Here's a good page that describes what the lock latch motor looks like and where it's located. Of course, there is 220V current running around inside there, so please unplug before removing the back access cover and put it back on before plugging the oven back in.

My symptoms:
  • Oven failed to complete auto-clean cycle.
  • Oven started beeping; control panel showed FSE 1
  • About a minute after plugging in, oven started beeping and displaying FSE 1 again
Once I unlocked the door manually and plugged back in, the oven started behaving normally.

F7 code flashes and beeps

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
