    Question: What locale does the 'popping' come from? Also, do you regularly drain your tank? If not, water will condense in the bottom of the tank,causing it to rust from the inside out.

THE POPPING SOUND IS PROBABLY COMING FROM A PRESSURE RELEIF VALVE ON THE HEAD OR INNERCOOLER. THIS TYPICALLY MEANS THE VALVES IN THE HEAD ARE BAD AND RARELY THIS VALVE IS BAD. DO NOT PLUG THIS PORT. YOU CAN TRY CHANGING THIS SAFETY VALVE-PAY ATTENTION TO THE PSI RATING ON THE SIDE. SINCE ITS A DAYTON IT CAME FROM GRAINGER AND YOU CAN GET PARTS FROM GRAINGERS 1-800 PARTS SERVICE. TRY TO FIND A 5 DIGIT PART # SOMEWHERE LIKE 5Y670, ETC. YOU CAN PROBABLY GET A VALVE REPAIR KIT OR THE ENTIRE VALVE PLATES. PAY ATTENTION WHEN DISASSEMBLING AND MARK DIRECTION OF PARTS. HOPE THIS HELPS, JODY

My D55141 heavy duty 2gal (7.6L) 150 psi max builds pressure up to around 150 releases pop off valve then keeps running, what causes this problem?

The pressure switch is either out of adjustment or has failed. The compressor should shut off at a much lower pressure than the safety valve (~100 psi)

Using presure washer - released trigger on nozzle could hear motor loadig up then a pop like something rubber bursting and water poured from under side and very little presure at nozzle help please.

Hello,

It would seem that your bypass/unloader valve has failed.This will happen if a unit has been sitting and corrosion builds up in the pump head.

The valve failing has caused it to pop an o-ring or seal, it will require to be stripped down and repaired.

Iam useing sherwin williams carclad hs spray paint and having prabloms with runing tryed little thinner more thinner low psi hi psi just can not get it right

If its running in spot places it may be your fan width is not wide enough and your spray pattern is to tight so your over laps are causing paint build up hence the runs, use a nice big wide fan pattern and run about 30psi

I have a Dewault D55141 air compressor that runs to 150 lbs of pressure and blows the valve and releases air. I bought it new about 2 yrs ago? What needs to be done with this problem? I noticed on this...

Hello;
150 is your cutout pressure. It's the factory setting and is not a problem. But, It appears you have a pop off (safety) that is set for 125 psi, So, If you want 150 psi, the pop off needs to be adjusted. If you want 125 the the cut out switch needs the adjusting. The setting. More than likely the 125 psi pop off valve is correct and the switch needs to be adjusted down below the pop off pressure. To sdjust the switch, remove the cover of the box the cord comes out of.Adjust using the screw(s). There should be one for cut in and another for cutout pressuressures. The cut in pressure should be 90 psi and the cutout should be at 125 psi.If the pop off valve blows off at 125, It needs either replace or adjusting. It's best to replace it.since the spring inside has lost tension. You will be constantly adjusting it otherwise. Good Luck -Ned_ Take caution not to get your tool or fingers into the electrical in the switch box.

The motor runs continuously and the pressure is low. What are the possible causes for this?

You haven't given any model number information, but typically on any air compressor if it won't build pressure, either you have a leak in your piping, tank, hose or the compressor cannot move the required cfm of air. Could be a valve problem or piston, relief valve? Do you hear any air leaking. There are som many different models from cheap throw away compressors to thousands of dollar models. HArd to say without more information

How do you adjust the air pressure on a dayton outdoor 175 heater

all "bullet" heaters utilize an integral air pump. there is an air port and an adjusting screw on the back. use a gauge that measures zero to 25 lbs. adjust air to 3-5 psi.

air compressor output should be 3.5 psi. to the fuel nozzle. the cowlings purpose is to channel the air-fan output through the rear vanes of the combustion chamber. if these openings are restricted then air can't get into the chamber. check to see that the fan blades aren't jammed against the cowling. if they won't spin then you won't get any air through the unit.
