It should have a reset button. Try that. Out of curiosity, is the compressor near where you paint? If so, paint may have accumulated on the switch contacts. Remove the cover and check them out.

Campbell Hausfeld HD4200 spray gun. Will not spray plain water. no siphon effect at feeder tube. What to check?

Check for air leaks above the top of the feeder tube. If it leaks air there, then no suction. Bad gaskets often cause this.

On a Campbell Hausfeld DH5030 spray gun, there is a screw valve at the base of the unit with arrows labeled S and P for turning clockwise and counterclockwise, respectively. What is this for?

The "P" stands for pressure feed. turning it completly to this side forces air into the cup pushing the paint out.

The "S" is for siphon feed where the air through the tip sucks paint from the cup.

If your using thin materials like lacquers or polyurethane or solvent based enamels the siphon feed is used.

If your using thicker materials like water based latex or heavy stains then go with the pressure setting.

You can always go in between for some pressure with the siphon action....depends on coatings used.

MY CAMPBELL HAUSFELD DH5300 PAINT SPRAYER WILL NOT SPRAY PAINT.

there are several issues that can cause this problem.
I will assume you have used the sprayer before so that will eliminate an incorrect air cap. The only other issues are paint viscosity, worn parts and the number one cause improper cleaning.
Be prepared for a complete disassemble of your gun. Depending on what you spray any residue can become hard as cement and it only takes a small amount to cause problems.
Below is a link to the manual that gives an exploded view of your gun.
Hope this helps but if not please let me know and I will trouble shoot further.

I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,

2 gallons is small to begin with u need to buy an in line pressure adjuster/regulator their a few bucks and can be attached to the paint gun or line and will keep the pressure at ur adjustment the regulator on the tank sets the tank pressure at 50 so when u us it will let it drop down to about 45 than start up to build the pressure up to 50 than shuts off than repeats it self the inline keeps pressure steady even if tanks are at 200 psi

Airless sprayer will not prime Model AL230502LX

Check for a plunger on the bottom of the machine. Pump it several times and try to prime with water. Also, if there is difficulty priming after trying the plunger, switch on in prime, and cycle to paint, back to prime, paint, prime. After several tries, leave it in prime with the pickup tube in water, and pump the plunger again. If this doesn't help, disconnect the hose fron the pump and try again. If you're getting water now, the issue is down the hose, or at the roller/gun.
Hope this helps! --W/D--

Campbell hausfeld paint sprayer has no suction

The same thing happened to me before if the paint is too thick. Another reason was when the gun toppled over and paint went into the spring and needle in which case you will have to take it apart and clean it.
