Hello!  I just posted I had a problem but now I've solved it. User LOSNAD posted the simple solution here.

I think we accidentally turned off the wireless switch. The switch is in front of the mousepad, to the left of the mic and headphone jack. OK!

Is there an external switch to activate Bluetooth?

Check to see if there is a "Fn" key to enable Bluetooth. Most laptop's have a bluetooth icon on one of the "F" keys. e.g By pressing "Fn-F3" on an Acer or "Fn-F2" on Dell or ASUS, you are able to enable or disable bluetooth.

Hi can anyone help me to how open bluetooth on Asus A550C.

Push the wireless button, located on the palm rest or on the front, right or left side of the ASUS notebook or netbook. The Bluetooth icon appears on the screen, indicating that it has been activated. Alternatively, press "Fn-F2" until the Bluetooth icon appears on-screen.

Are you telling us that you are using a Bluetooth adapter to try to connect your ASUS N50Vn laptop.to a wireless network??? For that you need a (wireless) network adapter (it plugs into an available USB port on your laptop. like the BT adapter), not a Bluetooth adapter.

Hi Friend,

1. PRESS FN-F2 and check whether bluetooth is on
2. Check in My Computer Properties - Device manager whether Bluetooth Hardware Detected
3. If it is Showing then Reinstall Bluetooth Driver and wireless console utility from http://support.asus.com

Please first install the Wireless Console Utility before BlueTooth installation

To enable the Wireless LAN Fn + F2

usually the wifi function key has the universal antenna symbol with radio waves emanating from it.

The manual says the other hotkeys are:

Fn + F2 - Wireless LAN
Fn + F3 - Standby
Fn + F4 - External display
Fn + F7 - Reduce brightness
Fn + F8 - Increase brightness
Fn + F9 - Play / pause media
Fn + F10 - Stop media
Fn + F11 - Media previous chapter
Fn + F12 - Media Next Chapter
Fn + scroll - Scroll Lock

My Laptop's Bluetooth Won't Turn On. I Push FN + F6 (Which Is To Turn On Bluetooth) And It Doesn't Work. It Just Keeps Telling Me Bluetooth Off. My System Information Says This Driver Is Off. Any Help...

Which model laptop is this? Many of the Gateway laptops have 2 switches for the Bluetooth. There is a physical switch on the front or side of the system that needs to be turned on for both the wireless LAN and the Bluetooth to work.
The physical switch needs to be in the ON position, then you can use the FN-F6 to toggle the bluetooth specifically on and off. Depending on the model there will be another toggle, possible FN-F2 to toggle the wireless Lan on and off once the switch is turned on.

Hi,

In the bluetooth settings on the laptop make sure you have it set to discoverable or visible, then search for devices.
