Question about RCA HD52W59 HDTV Projection Television

1 Answer

Burn in I have a RCA HD52W59 that I bought at a yard sale for 300.00 the problem is there is a burned in image in the middle of the screen. I have taken apart the front and turned the screen upside down. This did nothing to the image it was still in the same palce and not backwards or upside down. I would like to get rid of this image with the easist way possible. Please let me know of the esay way. I have already tried leaving it on a bright white screen to burn in white but that did little or the image. if I have to replace the tubes where can I buy them and what are the part numbers? Thanks

The bad news is generally crt burn in is a permant condition. the only way is to replace crt.. these are not easy or cheap. on average it takes me more than hour to repace one tube and with 3 around 2 . dissambly is tough on this set. the tubes cost about 250 apeice. now times 3 plus labor .. i generally recomend if you have to replace all three its not worth is these setts are 800 at walmart.

How do I remove burn images from a Sanyo TV?

I am assuming this is a Plasma TV? If so, Once an image is burned into the screen, there is now way to remove it. There are some ways to remove temp burn-in images like playing a white screen, and a screen wipe program. But,this only helps if you see a burn-in after watching the same image for a few hours. If the image has been played over a long period of time. "Like a store demo, security camera, ESPN like at a bar" There is no repair for this. And the screen will need to be replaced, and the cost of the replacement is sometimes more than buying a new TV. Sorry to have to give you this bad news. If you bought a extended war.? It may cover the burn-in. Some warranties
will cover that. It is worth a try.

Screen burn-in, screen is green in the middle, and you can see burned images

Try powering down the screen for 48 hours. This give the screen time to cool down, and will hopefully stop the problem. If that doesn't work, try to use the White Screen Method. Here is a link to do so.
Hope this helps!

Ok...I just replaced the .0087uf 2000vdc capacitor that had burned out and the TV came on and worked for about 30 minutes. Now it shuts off and turns itself back on 3 times then it stays off and you cant...

Check for any capacitors that havnt blown but may be very leaky and unable to retain charge, often found surrounding the blown components. Also check the power suply circuitry for any shorted components that may have faulted causing the capacitor to burn out. Good Luck.

Burn in images

When "creen burn" occurs it is impossible to remove and the image will be there permanant. I have seen the same happen to CRT TVs and CRT computer monitors. You have probably had the image on the screen too high in brightness/contrast. Coupled with the fact the image did not change much.

Sorry but there is NO fix for this - apart from a replacement TV.

Rectangular Burn In on Samsung Plasma One day after i bought it:(

No fix for this unit. The panel will have to be changed out and there is no way you did that in 24 hours unless you left it on a still image for several hours. If this was a floor modle it is very common for stores to achive burn in due to long hours on display.

Check your screen. I have the same problem with mine. If the screen has a ripple in it, it could give the same effect.
