Question about Biostar P4M80-M7 Motherboard
Hello, My motherboard is Biostar p4m800 Pro-M7 v1.2; chipset 8237. I use onboard video VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP; video driver v.220.127.116.110 from 25.09.2007; VGA Cashe in BIOS is max 64Mb. For now the highest resolution for monitor is 16:10 is 1280x760. May I increase resolution up to 1640x1050 without either upgrading motherboard or buying Video Card? Any help would be appreciated very much.
To answer your question in short: If your video card and monitor drivers are installed correctly and you are able to adjust the resolution to 1640x1050 in your settings then your card and monitor are able to handle that resolution.
Remember that at higher resolutions your display card performance might become very slow.]
This is due to your BIOS shared memory being only 64Mb.
To get better performance you will have to upgrade your display card to one with more memory. ie. 256Mb. or more.
Best of luck.
