I have a MAV3905AWW washer, it lost the spin cycle first. tested and found timer was not sending voltage to motor. Ran 2 cycles after this and got burnt electrical smell and motor overheats. I replaced...

I beleive that your washer needs a hub and seal kit. Please check parts sites. I did some research for you and this part seems to be unavailable on many sites that sell Maytag parts. When the seal is defective, it make the spin cycle very difficult for the transmission and motor and cause overheating . On the wash cycle however, this seal is not in the loop and the wash cycle is performing without overheating the motor. I am afraid that you will need a technician to do this job if you ever find the part.

I have a fisher paykel washer that is not drain/spinning properly and I noticed a burning/hot smell. Anything i can do? It is 5 yrs old.

ours did the same thing with the burning smell also. I found that the pump motor kept tripping out from overheating and would not empty the drum thus telling the computer not to spin. I took out the pump and found that the rotor inside the armature had surface rust all around it so i gave it a light sand to clear the rust and whalah...no more tripping out, the pump motor needs to be disassembled to get at the rotor.

My 5 year old LSQ9659LW washer pumps but no spin

You could have two problems here. One is a bad timer not giving the signal to spin and the other burning smell is usually a belt slipping on the drive shaft. Either way, it's time to have it checked out. If it it's a newer model without any belt the electric motor is heating up and this definetly needs to be checked out.
