Hi, I'm happy to assist you with your problem. Can you answer some questions to help me get a better understanding of your problem?

1. How do you receive your television signal? Cable, Satellite, Antenna (indoor or outdoor)? If cable or satellite, who is your provider? (eg. Comcast, DirecTV, etc.)
2. What is the model of your telelvision?
3. How long have you been experiencing this issue?
and finally...
4. Are you located in the US? (some stations are changing the way they broadcast, that's why I ask)

Thank you for taking the time to help clarify... I'll get back to you as soon as you post the answers to the above questions.

Thanks for your reply! Two things to try:

    1. Replace the cable that runs between your TV and the incoming cable line. (This may be on the wall, or through the floor, depending on how it's installed) I'd use one of the known-good cables that is currently on one of your other TV's.

    2. If that doesn't fix it, then go through the Channel Scan function. You can find out how to do that by looking at the user manual (pg 19) located here: http://www.polaroid.com/service/userguid...

    To summarize:
Press the INPUT button on the remote to display the Input List. Use the ▲▼ buttons to select TV and press the OK button.

Press the MENU button on the remote control to display the Main menu, and use the ◄►
    buttons to select the TV.

Press the ▼ button to select Channel Scan, and press the OK button.
The Channel Scan automatically creates a list of receivable channels. Press the
MENU button at any time to interrupt the memorization process.(the list cannot be
    created if interrupted)

Press the OK button to display the received channel list, then press ▲▼ to select a
channel. Or, use the ▪ (INPUT button) with 0-9 buttons to select digital channel( for
    example 9.1)

    -----
This is all assuming, of course that you're not using a cable box to tune channels. If that's the case, let me know.

Finally, as one more troubleshooting option, try taking one of the good TV's and plugging it into where you have your Polaroid currently hooked up.

Let me know how it goes, and good luck!

Hi fixya friends. It's that women again. MY DICK SMITH DTV I still haven't been able to tune in any ABC channels and I've lost channel 10 now!!!!! What the heck am I doing wrong??? I am crazy.

Haha good post. This sounds very much like a weak signal coming into your sets.

First thing to do is to cut the VCR out of the TV input as a trial. Take the antenna input plug out of the VCR and plug it into the TV directly instead of the cable from the VCR to the TV input. If the picture improves then you know the VCR input/output for the signal cable is faulty.

However I think there will not be a change. Digital TV signals need the very best signal you can get in your area, and if a critical inspection is given to the antenna, downlead, and cable to the back of the VCR, something will be found faulty I believe.

In my case I knew the antenna was OK, and had not thought about the cable from the wall to the PVR and TV. All it was, this short cable was poor quality, and - poor pictures on the TV, plus no ABC stations at all.

You need quad shield cable, called "RG6", all the way down, and "F-connectors" at each join as far as possible, maybe also a proper digital aerial, and once all that is OK, then search for new stations by the usual procedure. You will find a good picture, and sadly, reams of rubbish programs.

Sharp Aquos LC-52D92U static on display

if your seeing static on a digital tv , your problem is "Not" in the tv its in the signal source (cable box, sat scram,Etc)

digital tvs cant produce "static" displays because they don't receive wide spectrum signals like analog TV's did (carol-ann knows this!) there "filters" are very narrow and specific , this is also why there range is dramatically smaller than analog tvs
also everyone by now knows that tv stations can no longer transmit in analog format (in Usa), G4 cell phones got there band space

The bit error level is 10 on the Ch7 stations but ok on all other stations and the signal strength is around 50 Any idea how to fix. Plugged in a different smaller TV into the same coax cable connection...

Plugging in a different tv does not really prove much, tuners vary slightly in the way they handle signals It may just be that your aerial needs a very slight adjustment or has degraded slightly.
Can you plug the coax into another device (vcr?) and out of that into the tv and see what happens?
vote appreciated

Plugged in, cable connected, turned on, says "No Signal"

OTA signal? Check your antenna orientation and if there are any tall objects that would interfere with the signal. (See antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for signal directions and distance to the station. antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative with station information.) Scan for channels with Menu > > (right arrow twice) up or down to AutoScan and hit enter. Use add channels to include stations with the antenna in a new direction.

If you are using the built-in antenna, you may not get digital signals. Try an external antenna (see above sites). Digital signals are enough or zero.

This TV doesn't have a cable tuner so a set top box would be needed for cable stations, check the box directions for the station you need to tune the TV to access the signal.

I hope this helps.

My tv comes on and has "unusable signal" floating on it

What is your signal source, OTA or cable? Did lightning or another type of power surge recently hit? Make sure you have the TV on the desired input.

If OTA check your antenna direction and that you have the Channel Setup (from the menu) set to Antenna. Also check if you have the right antenna to get stations in your area. Antennaweb.org gives the most likely channels and directions. tvfool.com will give more detailed information and more stations. Both sites assume outdoor antennas but the direction information is always good. Look for new construction or big trees that might block the signal. Do you have multiple TVs sharing the same antenna? You might need an amplifier.

If cable, check the Channel setup. Check for someone recently damaging your cable installation (cutting the wires, trying to split the signal to get it for free) Splitting the signal to multiple TVs may also be an issue, get an amplifier of the correct type. Some cable systems may require a bidirectional amplifier.

If you recently had a power surge, see if the TV works with other inputs.
Tuners can be replaced if the TV is worth the labor costs for you.

I hope this helps.

( My household had three tvs and a digital to analog converter that lost their tuners after a nearby lightning strike. We chose to replace the TVs since two were over 15 years old and the third was also out of warranty.)

Kenwood RV7030 audio-video stereo has static without antenna

OK I am going to suggest two aerials for you. I would also NOT use the old cable as it will cause a lot of problems. It is best to replace it with the stuff they use for satellite dishes (see image).
The FM aerial will pick up signals from all sides. The TV aerial should give high quality signals and output for at least 5 sets.

PS3 static on screen

It sounds like you're carrying interference to your TV. Try moving you station away from any power source. Make sure your hdmi cable is away from any power as well. This may also be a ground issue. Plug your ps3 power brick into a different outlet.

You gotta have a way to get signal to the tv . If you don't want a outside antenna use rabbit ears .After you hook them up hide them behind the tv then do a channel scan. If you don't pick up all the stations set them on top and scan again or get satillite or cable hd boxes.
