Cannot print. My Epson Stylus Color 740 usually will not print at all. I have tried most of the trouble shooting tips. The copier test indicated the problem is not in the printer itself. My hard drive was getting short on memory, but I fixed that. Printer still will not print. Please help. Thank you.

There are no XP drivers for this printer.

It is possible that Windows N.T. 4.0 or windows 2000 drivers may work.

Wow, that's a really old EPSON printer. The life expectancy of a EPSON printer is just three years, after that, the printer wouldn't work because of the clogged permanent printing head. The authorized service center is unable to repair it because the spares are no longer supplied.
Throw it to a recycling center.

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.

May I know if the printer is working on any computer.

It assume to be the Black Ink Head of the Printer is decayed. I mean to say the Surface where the Ink cartridge contacted to Printer, the film also need to be replaced. Plz check it to nearby service centre.

try go to your start/printers and fax
then right click on your printer.
then select printing references
then click on paper/quality tab
then choose color

i think you use a compatible ink... use genuine ink for epson ok...

just try with tet page of printer and also reinstall the driver and see. bye
