Hp laptop monitor does not respond

I am glad to HELP YOU!

First thing first I have some QUESTIONS for you:
# do you have a normal monitor that you can plug in? Because you can check if the problems are the same on the other monitor.
# does it work again after reboot?
# is your machine hotter than usual?
# does the fan spins? can you hear it spinning or can you feel the air stream coming out?

I'd suggest you to try to boot in the SAFE MODE option [usually is the F8 key but watch the booting screen; is indicated there] and select LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION. Revert on that one. Sometimes, during the updates some problems may occur. Revert your system configuration to an earlier one, a good and stable one and you can get rid of that "freezing & non-responsive monitor".

The screen remains black when computer is turned

maybe a hardware problem, on booting the pc, move the screen to every angle to see if there is a connection problem.
If so, then use your warranty if you have one.

I recently reformatted my hp pavilion dv7-1260us with Vista home premium 64 bit. I went to HP's website and reinstalled all of the drivers. My wireless will not work. Device manager isn't recognizing the...

OK with ANY Windows 64bit software you need whats called "Digitally Signed Drivers" now almost all "older" hardware does NOT have this. so to Install and Run you MUST at boot up press F8 EVERY-TIME you boot, and turn OFF Digital driver signing" at bottom or the F8 list. Also you MUST install as Administrator, & "Run" as Administrator too. You may also have to set the installer & the program's .exe to Compatibility Mode for XP SP 2. Right click the program's .exe and choose "Properties", then "Compatibility tab. Remember EVERY TIME you Boot,it must be OFF.
