I have a Motorola Razr V3. Very recently the exterior and main screen went black. The phone itself still works (I can still call people and receive calls) but I can not see anything on the screens. Do you...

The reason your phone interior and exterior screen went black is because there is a problem with the flex of the phone.

The flex is the mechanism like a ribbon that connects the screen to the panel of the phone.

All you have to do is to replace the flex of the phone.

To replace it on your own, the process to do this are as following;
  1. Get the appropriate screwdriver (Torx 5 screwdriver).
  2. Remove the four rubber stoppers surrounding the screen to reveal four screws. Remove these screws.
  3. You can now remove the front cover. To do this, use a credit card to lever the cover up. The cover clips on and the levering motion will unclip it. Start at the top, then unclip the cover at the bottom, then both sides.
  4. Now detach the camera from the phone. Simply pull the ribbon away from the phone to release it.
  5. Now unplug the other ribbon. The ribbon attaches like a plug and socket. Simply lift it up to unplug it.
  6. The ribbon you just unplugged is the flex of the phone, so you have to unscrew the lower part of the phone to remove it completely.
  7. To open the lower part, you have to open the back cover and remove the battery,
  8. Unscrew the screws you see, than split it open with a credit card or the tip of your finger, apply a little force to open it.
  9. Then unscrew the board, you will see where the other end of the ribbon is connected on the board, then you can remove it and fix a new one.
  10. Reverse the process to reassemble the phone together.
Take care

Motorola v365 won't charge and won't stay with wall power

The reason your phone wont charge might be because there is a problem with the battery, the charger or the charging port.

To test it if it is the battery,

Insert the battery into another phone and try to charge it for a while,
if it does not work, then it is the battery.

All you have to do is to change the battery.

To test it if it is the charger,

Plug the charger to a power supply,
Connect the charger to another phone, to see if it works.

If it does not work, then it is the charger that needs replacement.

To test if it is the charging port,

Insert a new battery, and plug it to a new charger.

If it does not charge, then it is the charging port.

Replace the charging port and it will be okay.

To replace the charging port;
  1. After removing your back cover and battery, remove the four torx 6 screws you see. (When reassembling, the gold screws go at the bottom and the silver screws go back at the top),
  2. With the four screws removed you can now remove the battery compartment,
  3. With the battery slot removed you have access to one of the ribbons which connects the screen to the main body of the phone. Unclip this (it fits like a plug and socket).
  4. You'll now have the phone in two parts,
  5. Take to the lower part and disconnect the charging port and replace it with a new one,
  6. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly
Take care

Remove camera

open up the back of your v3.take out the battery..
then remove the 4 little rubber screw plugs on the 4 corners of the screen side of the flip/there are 4 little star type screws in there.remove them remembering what hole each screw came out of.some v3s have different size screws in the holes.then you'll see the flat ribbon cable going from the camera to the pc board of the screen.remove it and gently work the camera out of its careful.use a flat type screw screw driver to work it out.

How do i replace flex cable on a razor phone can u show video

Ok..#1.take the battery out..
then youll have to remove the 2 screws that hold the modem part of the phone in.gently pryup on the modem ,on the side with out the usb charger port..slip a thin flat tipp screw driver in there and slide it towards the bottom of the phone. there are littler plastic clips carefull not to break them.then youll see where the bottom of the flex cable plugs in.unplug it.then flip the phone over,in the 4 cornors of the screen side of the flip there are tiny little rubber plugs. pop them out and undo the screws in there.near the top of the screen there is a little slot on the right side of the screen ..gently pop the cover off the screen..unplug the flex cable from the screen.and carefully remove the careful not to damage the buttons on the sides of the screen.then close the flip and turn the phone over..looking into the battery part of the phone,on the top right hand side of the hindge there is another little screw, remove that.then again turn the phone over and stick a flat tip screw driver into the open hole and pop the chrome roller out.then very carefully youll be able to seperate the 2 halfs. look on the back side of the keyboard youll see little metal tabs folded over that holds the key board in place..the keyboard and the flex cable are one piece, just revers the procedure to replace.." BE VERY CAREFUL RUNNING THE FLEX CABLE THREW THE HINGE AS IT CAN DAMAGE VERY EASLY." IF YOU NEED MORE ASSISNT CONTACT WWW.PHOENIXTEC.CA they are very helpful

How do you change the faceplate on the nextel i95?

BASIC disassembly of your phone(i60/i90/i95)
This ONLY covers unscrewing the housing and splitting it open? that ALL. You'll need a T-8 torx driver for this.

Step 1: Turn you phone off, turn it over, take off your battery cover, take out your battery, and take out your SIM card. Be careful with your SIM card. Unscrew your antenna, remove it, and take out the metal antenna tube.

Step 2: Get your T-8 torx. Unscrew the THREE torx screws in the battery compartment. They are located in the bottom two corners and in the top left corner of the battery compartment.

Step 3: Peel back the right hand side of your ?Nextel? sticker just above the battery compartment. Peel it back ONLY A LITLE, until you expose the fourth torx screw. Use your T-8 torx to unscrew it.

Step 4: Carefully separate the two halves of the housing. BE CAREFUL, and keep in mind that at the top of the phone (near the flip hinge) there are cables still attached (the flip ribbon cable and the headphone jack). You will not be able to separate the two halves of the phone body all the way and will want to make sure to keep the top part of the housing relatively close together. If you screw up and damage the cables up there? don't try to blame us? we warned you.

Step 5: Do whatever it is you wanted to do that required you to split apart the housing in the first place (e.g. replace a keypad, PTT buttons, etc.), put the two halves of you phones body back together (carefully aligned) and screw the torx screws back in.

Step 6: Put your antenna, SIM, and battery back in, and you're done. Enjoy!

**Now let's talk about the flip. This ONLY covers the removal of the front and inside lenses of the flip. If you want to remove your flip completely, or remove the LCD of the i90. SEARCH the forum for info on how to do that. You'll need a T-6 torx, a SMALL flat-head screw driver, a hobby knife, and a blow-dryer for this.

Step 1: _This is optional, but is ideal for those nervous people out there who don?t want to take any chances. Remove your antenna and battery but put your battery cover back on.

Step 2: FIRST, open the flip. With the phone facing you (as if looking at your screen), look into the gap between the flip hinge and the phone body in the very center of the flip's hinge. You're going to see a small slot in there. Remember that slot? it's important.

Step 3: Close the flip and turn on your blow-dryer. Keeping the dryer about 4 inches from the surface of the front lens (the blue thing on the i95 or the silver thing on the i90) heat up the lens surface. Keep your blow-dryer moving around? DON'T concentrate it in one spot, you'll end up melting something. All you want to do is soften the glue a little. You don't need to use the dryer for too long to accomplish this. A minute or LESS should be fine, use your GOOD judgment.

Step 4: Once you have heated up the front lens enough to soften the glue underneath, quickly open the flip and use your small screw driver and poke it through that slot we talked about in step 2. You are pushing on the back-side of the front lens when you do this. BE GENTLE! You should be pushing the top of the front lens away from the top of the flip. Manipulate the phone in your hands as necessary so that you can hold the top of the front lens away from the phone. Remove your screw driver and close your flip (careful not to let the part you pushed away slip from your grip.)

Step 5: GENTLY pull the front lens away from the flip a little bit and use your hobby knife to cut away at the glue. BE CAREFUL not to knick or cut ANYTHING EXCEPT for the glue when you do this. In this process you will cut a little, and pull a little further away, cut a little, and pull a little further away. Continue this until you have completely removed the front lens. Once completely separated, make sure little to no contact is made with the glue on the back of the lens or the front of the flip. The more you touch it, and/or the more **** that falls onto it (dust or dirt or whatever) the less sticky it will be.

Step 6: Use your T-6 torx driver to unscrew the four torx screws on the front of the flip. These screw hold the inside flip lens down, so once they are out, be careful when you open your flip.

Step 7: Open your flip and gently remove the inside lens. BE CAREFUL. On the i95, the LCD is NOT glued to the inside of the flip. It is held in by the inside flip lens. You'll need to GENTLY remove it from the lens. If you're not careful.. you'll damage your ribbon cable and be screwed.

Step 8: Once your done doing whatever it is you wanted to do that required you to take your lenses off in the first place, just reverse the processes in step 7 and step 6 to attach your inside flip lens again. Then simply pres your front flip lens firmly back in place. If you were careful, the glue should be undamaged and would be PLENTY strong enough to hold your lens securely in place. Presto, you're all set! Enjoy!

You will need a hot air soldering/desoldering gun for the work. Not possible. Only a trained technician can do it.
