Ok.. no I did not uninstall the Student Version because frankly, my husband uses Peach Tree accounting and I am so worried that I might mess that up! Will all of the other programs I have still work? And what about email addies, newsgroups, etc that we have in the Office apps- wil the be erased if I re-install Office Pro?

  • laudermilch Apr 22, 2009

It's just that hius desktop pc isn't the one I use BUT just after we bought this and transferred our biz & accnt software, I tried the activaton assisstant and now when you try THAT to try to get Pro eunning, it opens word! Sadly Diagnostics says alls fine! and tis not~

Ummm last I knew *I* was that! now what? BTW- both student & pro icons are showing up on the add./remove programs window but BOTH have the same response when I try to uninstall or change.

archive everything that you think or know you are going to need. including e-mail. e-mail may be a tough one to do. please post back if you need instruction for archive e-mail.

remove any of the office applications will destroy what you have setup, but not the content.

example: i fyou creat a document in word. and you unistall the word from your computer. the document you created using word will be in text format, you can open that with notepad or winword.

deleting Microsoft office will not affect any other applications. with exception of document or spreadsheet created with MS office suite. the document will be available after you have reinstalled the offcie suite.

Look in the Add/Remove programs applet of he Windows Control Panel to see if you have two copies of Office installed. If so, you may want to remove both and re-install the Pro copy only. If this is an upgrade you may need the original install media to prrove you are upgrading legitimately. You may also want to first try to make a "change" using setup to your existing copy if there is only one to add the application(s) you want from the upgrade.

Peach will be fine. The data you create with Office should also be fine. You may loose some spelling words and items stored in the templates if they are removed but that is rarely a concern except for major power users.

Hi ekse..i mistakenly clean off 2007 microsoft office home and student version 2007

Hi asaajummy

ACCIDENTAL DELETION OF MS OFFICE HOME AND STUDENT 2007

You do not say where you obtained your MS Office Home & Student 2007. If this program originally came from a Microsoft Authorized or other legitimate source with the original installation disc and Product ID and was, when new, an unused, unregistered, unactivated, genuine version but you have either mislaid or damaged the original disc, then you could beg, borrow or buy any MS Office Home & Student 2007 disc with which to re-install the program, using your original Product ID when a code is requested during the installation process. You could borrow a disc from a friend or an educational institution. You could go to a local repair centre with a comprehensive software library. You could buy a replacement disc on eBay.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/installation-and-activation-information-for-2007-microsoft-office-programs-HA010173340.aspx

If you obtained MS Office Home & Student 2007 from a third party, you will have difficulty knowing whether it is genuine, unused, unactivated and unregistered.

If you were hoping to be able to download MS Office 2007, then you should be aware that Product Full, genuine, licensed versions of Microsoft Products cannot usually be downloaded. Microsoft have withdrawn downloads and direct sales of MS Office 2007 applications, the only remaining support services being updates and security patches during Automatic Updates. If there is some obstacle to your using the Product Key you mention, here are some constructive, useful, helpful, practical alternative options to consider instead. One option is to download MS Office 2010 Pro 60-Day Trial and install it, carefully following each step:

Go to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try

If you do not want to buy or cannot afford a full, licensed copy of MS Office 2007 and/or prefer to pursue the downloading option, consider the latest version of genuine, similar free comprehensive Office Suite applications - OpenOffice and LibreOffice- downloadable free, from their original source, at:

www.openoffice.org

http://www.libreoffice.org/

You can use OpenOffice and LibreOffice simultaneously with MS Office 2010 Pro 60-DayTrial. If you delete MS Office 2010 Pro 60-Day Trial, well before the 60 day expiry date, and Remove all components of it from Add or Remove Programs (or its equivalent in your Operating System) and Restart before downloading and installing it again, it is usually possible to enter into further 60 Day trial periods. If you are determined to continue using it but there is some insurmountable obstacle to your re-installing MS Office 2007, then you might have to purchase a full, genuine, unused and licensed copy of the software from a reputable, reliable supplier, such as Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_13?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ms+publisher+2007&sprefix=MS+Publisher

Online offers of Free Downloads of MS Office products are probably almost universally either not genuine, illegal, unlicensed or pre-used licence versions, downloadable only from illicit download sites or sites that are masquerading non-existent MS Office products as camouflage for the marketing of other (often unrelated) software, products or services. Even if you do succeed in finding a Product ID or download site that seems to work for MS Office 2007, you will still have to purchase a separate, genuine, unused Activation Code for the product before you can successfully install it, use it with confidence, register it, activate it and download and benefit from Updates and Security Patches for it from Microsoft.

I hope this helps.

The micorsoft word keeps asking for a product key and i dont know what it is .. i need hep

If your software is asking for a code, then it needs to be activated. Many new PC's ship with a trial version of Office installed, but after 90 days or so it will ask you to activate it. If you have a boxed retail version (purchased at a store) the code is inside the box.
Otherwise, if you purchased your new PC with MS Office 07 pre-installed, you should have it on your receipt; in that case the retailer is responsible for supporting the Office software you purchased. If you did purchase it and they won't help, MS has a help line that I would try next. Check the box or documentation for this info.
If you did not purchase it with your PC, then you have a couple of options: First, buy a retail copy of Office, either from a retailer like Best Buy or Walmart.
Newegg.com has the Home & Student for only $124, but the Pro Version is more expensive ($300-400). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116856&cm_re=office_2010-_-32-116-856-_-Product
If you happen to be a college student, use the MS Ultimate Steal to get a great Deal on Office 2010 Pro for under $100. http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/office/default.aspx
Otherwise, OpenOffice is a very good, free option, and is compatible with Office files. visit openoffice.org for the download, file is about 150MB so use a fairly fast connection.

I have a new PC and the given key product is not valid. What should I do?

I would contact Microsoft and have them give you a valid one. You may have a trial version if it was pre-loaded. In that case you may need to just purchase a key.

If you have the full version, it sounds like the vendor may have mixed up their keys. Either contact their tech support and have them straighten it out or contact Microsoft.

Some people have been known to get keys at www.thepiratebay.org. You will may need a program like bittorrent to download the information and it can be found at www.bitorrent.com

I took my PC in for repairs and it came back with a new microsoft windows office student 2007 which is expired and I cannot use my PC. I have my own Windows XP Professional but will not load as it comes up...

Windows and Office are 2 separate products. Reinstalling Windows XP Professional will not get you Office. If you went out and bought Office Home and Student 2007, you should have the box still that has your key on the cardboard insert. Otherwise, you probably had the trial. You can reinstall the trial if you like for another 30-90 days, but I would recommend you go to a big box store (best buy, staples, etc) and buy Office Home and Student 2010 for about $125. That gets you Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. If you need Outlook for email, you need to get the Home and Business 2010 edition for a little bit more.

I want a valid product key for office 2007 home and student

Sadly, the Microsoft website no longer supports the purchase of product keys for Office 2007 (any version). This leave you with two options; You can either purchase an Office 2010 from this site or you can go to a local store (Best Buy, Wal*Mart, etc) and purchase a 2007 Office package. The availability of a 2007 Office pack is questionable in stores, however. You may have more luck with online purchase at the same stores.

If I have Microsoft Word 2007 home edition, do I have access to Microsoft Publisher?

No.

Office 2007 Home Edition is a suite of Office products that does not include Publisher. Publisher would be included in the Small Business, Professional or Ultimate suites, or can be purchased separately.

Office 2007 key

The Home and Student trial version only ships with Word, Excel and Powerpoint where as the Professional edition comes with a whole slew of additional programs and features. In order to upgrade, or switch to the Pro version of Office 2007 out right, you are going to need additional software. Just curious, did you purchase the license from Microsoft or through a third party vendor?
