Question about Protege Computers & Internet
I have an 02 Protege5 which is pretty much the same engine. I changed mine at 105000 km's. Generally, you do it at about the 100000 km (62000 mile) mark. However, I know of others who pushed their cars to 150000 kms. Good news is that I believe that the Protege uses a non-interference engine (means the valves wont crash into the pistons if the timing belt breaks). However, you should double check this with your local Mazda dealership. Dont take my opinion for word.
