Re: changing drive belt
Ensure that the tensioner pulley wheel is also part of the belt loop and that it is properly sprung to take up slack. sometimes, this pulley looks good mounted in reverse, giving no tension to belt. try it the other way, against the spring force.

your guide wheels that the drum rides on at the back of the dryer could b worn or where they sit on the post to turn on the actual wheel the center may b gone so wheel is wobbling instead of running . UNPLUG THE DRYER BEFORE U TRY THIS there should be an access door that u can pop off take a flaslight and look at back of the machine in the hole just under the drum on each side for cracked or worn wheels . Turn the drum by hand watching for any jumping of the drum if the wheels or the belt r bad this will cause that noise if u r a handy person u can usually buy a kitt where you get the new wheels and belt otherwise the other option . is to have repair guy come in to change it. there is also a felt ring that goes all the way around the edge of the drum this can either wear out or actually come off the drum this felt is also on the back of the drum when checking wheels u should b able to see it check for wear and tear
This is simply a case of: Take the top off the machine (Usually a couple of screws holding the lid on at the back). Or - Rempove the inspection panel from the back Drop the new belt over the drive motor spindle On some machines you may need to thread the belt around a tensioning wheel Now take the belt and place it on the side main wheel that drives the drum and simply spin the drum wheel with your hand, guiding the new belt into place as you spin the wheel. It should simply stretch a little and work its way onto the wheel as it is hand turned.
Note, once it is on, take a look at the drive motor and make sure that the belt is sitting in the same place as the old one. Most of these motors have a slotted spindle and you can see from the clean and shiny surface where on the spindle the belt used to sit. If it is a little out of place, once again just take hold of the belt and pull it toward you or push it away as you spin the main drum wheel in order to move it into the correct slot.
The belt can be replaced as follows. 1 remove top and front of dryer shell 2 belt goes around drum around motor pully then under tentioner wheel 3 replace front and top of dryer (top pops off use a slotted screw driver) Thanx for using Fixya Please take your time to rate me
Hi what you need to do is take front off the dryer take out old belt the new belt is then placed around the drum around the drive wheel and then under tention pully . thank you for useing fixya
Looking from rear of dryer, one spring on motor is for tension, therefore put belt around drum(groove to the drum surface). Then rotate the motor firmly clockwise tensioning the spring, take belt from right of drum over tension wheel then put grooves of belt on shaft of motor.Release motor to tension spring, job done !!!!!
pull the front off then put the belt around the drum then pull the idler pulley back to put tension on it and put the belt around the motor pulley let the idler pulley back against the belt to keep it tight replace the front and your done
