Question about Toshiba Satellite M20-S257 Notebook

Open Question

AccuPoint II Toshiba Satellite M20 doesn't function correctly.

My AccuPoint II Curser of LapTop Toshiba Satellite M20 can only be moved horizontally, so I've to use an external one which is rather inconvenient. What shall I do to get it functional again ? Thanks beforhand. Best regards S. Adiprasito s.adiprasito@web.de

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: AccuPoint II curser Toshiba Satellite M20

The Accupoint device is connected to the motherboard with a small flexible cable. It may be loose. Remove the keyboard and check the cable connection.

Try reinstalling the WEBcam driver.
You can download the WEBcam and device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: - http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

When typing on toshiba the curser skip and actually moves

It might be that your palm is brushing across the intel touch pad (mouse pad) as you're typing?.. try holding down the function key (Fn) (on the lower left corner of the keyboard) while pressing F9 (this activates the "Toshiba Flash Cards Menu" and is a keyboard shortcut to toggle off/on the touch/mouse pad. You can turn it back on this way too. I almost always use a conventional USB mouse with my laptop for this reason and because it's faster than fiddling around with the pad, IMHO).

Touchpad curser not moving

Ok your cat stepped on the button that shuts off the touch pad lol, around the edges there is a switch that turns it on and off, some shut it off when using a mouse, to avoid hitting both at once. Peace, Gym

CURSOR WILL NOT MOVE

If the cursor doesn't move - and the Accupoint mouse is part of the keyboard - then simply replace the keyboard. Remove the plastic strip in front of the keyboard, one screw that hold the bottom of the keyboard down, and the rest is obvious.

LCD not displaying screen, correct. If you have a external monitor like from a desktop, then you can attach it to the laptop. Most laptops have a VGA or DVI connector on them. Even HDMI on new laptop. Most laptop have a combo you need to push to have it go the external monitor. It usually has Fn (Function) then above the F1-F10 keys in color, are the Function keys you push to get it.
I've seen it on F3-F4 keys normally. Your might be different. Use them as a reference only.
