I am using Acer Aspire 3260, At first it happened that very difficult to switch on my laptop (got to press the button hard and took long time to switch on) but lately all the power supply either using battery or direct current come to failure. There's no light at all. What happened actually and how do I manage to repair it myself?

This model Acer can support a hard drive up to 160Gb. You can download the specifications of this model notebook from this WEB site. http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/TravelMate3260/TravelMate3260sp2.shtml
try to turn off and remove cables and battery. Then press and hold power button for 8 secs. Reinsert battery and cables then turn it on. If same happens, you need to contact Acer to repair or replace your Hard drive...
Try removing the power cable and battery, while these are removed press and hold the power button on the laptop for 30 seconds. this is called a hard reset, what it does is drains any residual power in the laptop. if this does not work, that means there is an issue with the motherboard. to have it sent in would cost about $398, give or take.
You can redirect all your data to be saved into drive D and even downloads. Please look for the preferences of all your application software (can be seen in tools, option, change the default drive in Save In menu). Now, to free some space delete all temporary files from Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. Hope this gives you an idea.
