what model is it? how far along during the boot process before it will reboot, ie do you see the windows logo, or any text on screen, or is it blank the whole time.

i had a pc the other day that did a similar thing as discribed here it turned out to be malware changing a registry value, instead of pointing to hal.dll it pointed to another file and caused a cycling boot process.

check microsoft knowledge base for articles, i believe thats where i found the answer that pertain to my case which was an infection by malware/virus.

i have had a pc with similar porblems turned out to be overheating where the cpu heatsink and fan was dislodged slightly giving only partial contact, allowing the pc to boot but not fully to windows and would reboot around the windows logo.

a couple of things to think about, more info would be good

It does sound like a boot virus problem. you need to boot into system restore. to boot from the restore partition you need to switch on your pc and repeatedly press either F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Alt+F11. you do this until you see the system restore starts. you will be able to fix windows, or you can do a desturctive restore and restore your pc back to factory settings, but you'll loose your photos and anything saved on the hard drive.

I put my gps in my carfor 2 days & third day when i started my gps its mention 'your device needs to be restarted to increase performance.please wait while your data is saved.

This is normal, sense they are are all controlled via safelight and computer , they are constantly updating. I recommend once a month you manually reboot gps, to keep bugs out as well as accurate speed and performance. To manually reboot, turn off like normal, but when turning on hold on button down and keep down through opening process for about 15 seconds then let go of on button. Then is cleaned up and rebooted. The fan runs constantly and gets really hot.

You may be running too many programs in the background which can heat up a processor pretty well. You may also have a virus which overtaxes a processor. Also, always make sure that the heat vent in the back of the pc is well vented and not obstructed, and NEVER have the pc placed on something like a bed, blanket, or pillow
OK, Do this;
These are the steps that you need to take, and the instructions on how to do it:
1. Reboot into Safemode
2. Run a virus and spyware scanner while in safemode
3. Defrag
4. Scandisk
5. Registry error repairing while in safemode
6.Reboot into regular mode windows

Here is how to do it:
Reboot yor machine while holding the F8 key right as it boots back up. A menu will apear. Choose -->"start windows in safe mode with networking".
Windows will start in safe mode. Run an AVG virus scan, then run Defrag by exploring your computer, right click on C: drive, click PROPERTIES, then the TOOLS tab, click the "check now" button, and only checkmark the top box 'fix file system errors', then click ok, the computer will then tell you it will scan upon next reboot., Now click the DEFRAG NOW button. the choose defrag. After Defrag runs for about an hour and it is finished, restart the system. If is still won't run normally, go back into Safemode buy pressing F8 on reboot, then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot again. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall Windows and see if that works. If reinstalling windows doesn't fix it, it may be a hardware problem.
Good luck.

Blackberry flip pearl constantly reboots.

I've had the same problem, particularly after upgrading the OS. I've been able to keep it reboot free for 24 hours after resending the service books from the bberry portal (and I'm even using it unlocked from T-Mobile on AT&T).

System keeps rebooting

Ok, here may lie the problem, its probably an issue with one of the updates from MS.
Disconnect one of the PC's from the network, boot into safe mode and uninstall SP3 and the Video drivers.
After you have done that boot in normal mode to see if the system still restarts
Post back with the results please

Good luck

System keeps rebooting when it gets to the desktop

The problem is actually with eLock2FSCTLDriver.sys. So if the eLock program is uninstalled in safe mode, as it is crashing out the network initialisation, then the system will reboot as normal. It has no interaction with the AVG program, and this is official from AVG, and is a problem between Acer eLock and MS updates. Jon.

I have an acerpower fh series and it keeps rebooting when it reaches the desktop. it does fine in safe mode. i have done a system restore and it didn't help. i have checked the fans to make sure they are...

I'm a PC technician who worked on this exact problem today. Tried everything: ram tests, hard drive tests, looked for bad driver installs, tried everything I could think of and every diagnostic disc my company has. Our solution involved services that ran during normal mode, but not during safe mode. Which service you ask? AVG. We uninstalled it during safe mode, rebooted, and bam. It worked. It may have something to do with recent updates to AVG, but it only happened to this Acer. My Toshiba laptop and our company's Dell's are okay. Try uninstalling AVG: It may not be your particular solution, but it was ours for this comp.

Constantly rebooting

call me craxy, but you may need to replace your power supply, and if its not that, it is a stuck or broken fan on your graphix card or your cpu.
