It is the Transformer, i think the Main Coil shorted...but what i can't seem to find out is whats the voltage output?? Ive seen the Transformers in Maplins for around a fiver, but they have 4 varying outputs from 6v 9v 12v and 15v....ive looked on a Service Manual on line and it only tells you incoming voltage of 240V not whats after the transformer.....HELP!!!

Don't understand. If it doesn't turn on, how do you know the electronics are ok? More than likely your transformer shorted, and will need to be replaced.

Crosely won't play usb

If it's a turntable with a usb connector, those connections are usually outputs only. USB on a turntable is used to output the audio to a computer to rip albums to digital audio.

Denon dp-dj151 - won't turn on.

Have you got a volt/ohm meter? if you have then test the switch for connection. If that's good test for voltages with the meter.

Won't turn on

Check the fuse in the plug. If that's ok then the fuse on the board might of gone. & if that's ok as well then the trancformer has gone bang.

Power is on, turntable won't turn

Hi, sounds like the belt was not refitted when the motor was replaced.
To replace drive belt on a Crosley turntable.
1. Remove the cir-clip holding the platter in place from the base of the centre spindle.
2. Lift the platter off. You may need to use a flat blade or some similar tool to get under the platter in order to lift it up.
3. NA.
4. Place the belt around the platter pulley making sure it is sitting flat without any twists.
5. Flip platter over the right way up
6. You will see 3 rubber grommets in the platter surface. Remove 1. Through the hole insert a belt hook, crochet hook, kebab skewer, knitting needle type tool and slip it
between the platter pulley and belt in readiness to fit over the motor pulley.

The turntable was a gift for my son and it worked once. Now, it isn't responding to anything. We've checked the belt and it seems to be installed correctly. What now?

there are not much electronic circuit for controlling the mechanism. all mecanical movements. there are only switches to sense staring and ending. remove the power and do the following

while holding the tone arm in its rest position, slowly turn the platter by hand clock wise at least 10 rotation to clear the machanism's automatic cycle.

the connect the power and press start.

Theres no power in my turntable. upon opening it, the fuse looks good, and everything seems at first glace to be connected. but it does not turn on when plugged in.

check the power cable first . then check the on off switch. also check the transformer. do one more thing remove the fuse from the holder and then refix it. may be chance for contact problem.

Philco 841.205 Turntable Issues

I take it that it doesn't turn? OK two choices for you. Faulty motor, or a on/off switch that doesn't work. If you have to move the arm to start the turntable then some kind of leaver switch is either bent or broken.
I should imagine this model uses no more than a 12 volt motor. If you have no look with the switch, find the motor and take it out. Then stick a 9 volt battery on it, or lower voltage if it's only 6 volt motor. If it don't go it's bust!

Hi there! i just bought a numark tt1650 and an ortofon arkiv cartridge, connected it properly to my old technics a700mk2 amplifier (phono, grounding and all that) but it still has a buzzing problem...

Try connecting the turntable to one of the other inputs like CD / tuner etc and see if the buzzing disappears. if so then your turntable has a built-in pre-amp so it can be connected to any input except 'phono' as this would obviously be used for turntables without a pre-amp.
a lot of modern turntables now have built-in pre-amps to compensate for certain amps and receivers made without a phono input and can now be connected just like a CD player, tuner etc.

hope this helps.
