Re: panasonic projector lamp

The only way to tell if a lamp is good is by checking the inside of it for bulges, black spots, and fogging. or put it in the projector. best bet: buy a new one.

I have the same problem with my pjtx100 after changing the lamp at 2000 hrs @$450 THE SCREEN STARTED to go blue at just over 2years use sent it back to the supplier who happen to be sony dealers they said...

Unfortunately, the value of projectors drop quickly after the production run ends. You will most likely find that the price of the blue prism will be higher than a comparibe working projector of the same model on ebay. I have a Panasonic PT-AE 900U, 1100 lumens 720P 5500 contrast. To replace the main board (if you can find it) cost over $700 from a supplier. The same projector used are going for $300 - $500 in working condition on ebay. I just bought another one and it gets a great picture plus I have a second bulb as a backup with a few hundred hours left on it. I still haven't thrown away the ailing projector in hopes of someday finding a cheap one for sale with a good mainboard and a problem else where. Now I can afford to wait for one to become available.

Hope this helps,

After a few seconds the lamp light began to blink red, its a panasonic pt-lb10svu, show no pic at all has a new lamp

Hi, Replacing the lamp in a Sharp LCD projector requires the lamp indicator to be reset. When the lamp needs to be replaced, the indicator becomes red. Resetting the counter for the lamp hours to zero will also reset the indicator to green.
  • Attach the power cord to the projector and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 2Locate the buttons on the top of the projector and simultaneously hold down the "Enter", "Menu" and "down arrow" buttons, then press the "Standby/On" button.
  • Step 3Continue holding all four buttons depressed until the lamp indicator light begins flashing green. The counter is now reset. Zero hours will now be displayed on the screen.

I have an Optoma EP716 projector. It has run for

either the lamp has/is going to expire, or the ballast is bad. if the lamp has bulges or black spots on the inside, replace the lamp and clean out your projector with canned air. too much dust keeps in the heat and makes a 2000 hour lamp go in 1100 hours.

Last night, a message started appearing saying the lamp needed to be replaced on our Panasonic LCD TV. What is this and is it something we have to do? I think it's the Panasonic PT-AX200 LCD Projector, but...

the lamp is good for about 2000 hours. after this, the lamp may still work, but not as well or for very much longer. after you replace the lamp, you have to reset the lamp timer (in the menu settings).

Plus UP-1100 Lamp Hours Rest Procedure needed. The lamp is replaced but no menu option for resetting hours and Google provides no answer.

To reset the lamp timer on the Plus UP-1100, turn on the projector, press the menu key, navigate to the power menu, go to the lamp timer, then press and hold the "power on" button on the remote control for 20 seconds - you will see the timer reset to 0000.

PT-L735 U projectors. Green screen and stretched

The green is the result of the blue device failing. Happens about 4000 hours or so. LCDs can't handle the heat. Check the scaling of the image of the second projector. 16x9 vs 4x3.

    good luck

    Panasonic PT-L557U Bulb Life

lamp hours can only be displayed by connecting two test points in side the projector. in normal operation, a message will be displayed on the screen when the lamp hours = 1090. when the lamp reaches 1100 hours, the projector will shut itself off. when you do replace the lamp, be sure to reset the lamp time in the setup menu (this is covered in your manual).
