"no red led, no dell logo" means no power.

Unplug monitor from computer first.

Check the power adapter, ensure that connectors are well plugged in. The power adapter must be tested using a multimeter, and if the adapter is faulty it must be replaced.

A possible and simple cause is a bent pin on the male connector.

Otherwise you are looking at techie stuff.

My dell monitor turns on for 2 seconds then goes black and the green light blinks orange

I assume that you already try this monitor on another PC to verify that the problem is in the monitor, in this case you need to open it up and inspect the fuse, transitors, solder connections on the power/inverter board, see failed Dell monitors here for guide: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

Dell 2001FP Monitor Problem

I have seen many of these. It appears the video processor board is dying or dead. You can replace the board or the monitor.

This is the board. Not to hard to replace if you have some tech ability.

LED's blinking, no video

Your C5707 transistors in the monitor have failed. Suggest replacing all four with the Sanyo C5707 transistor. A common problem.

Blinking L.E.D. light on dell monitor

Try lowering the screen resolution to 1024x768 and see if it displays on the screen. You will need another monitor (possibly CRT as they do high resolutions) to do this.

Hi, The part where you see some color bars and blinking green led is what we call MONITOR SELF TEST. A diagnostic pattern consisting of four colors (red, green, blue and white) appears, and the LED flashes slowly. this happens when signal cable from the monitor is disconnected from the tower and leaving the power chord for the monitor plugged in. If the monitor works properly on a different computer. then its a problem with the computer's video card sending out signal. im 85% sure that its a problem with your video card.
