I had a problem with my operating system so I repaired it. But, to my surprise, my sound card is removed in the process, I don't know how it happened. I tried to reinstall it-I'm using realtek sound system-but I was instructed by the computer to install microsoft bus driver first before the operation will be successful. Kindly help me, I'm using acer laptop of model: aspire 4720z

You need to know what your sound card brand and model is then you can search for something like sound card driver for Brand + Model .
instead of Brand --> your soundcard brand
Instead of Model --> your soundcard model number
Formatting your hard disk erases everything on the disk. Including drivers for hardware.
1. find out the make and model of your laptop. 2. Go to the manufacturer's website and look for "Technical support" or a similar section. 3. Generally within most "technical support" sections is an area for "Driver downloads." You will want to look for sound card drivers for your model of laptop. 4. Look for your model of laptop within the driver downloads section. 5. Download the package and run it's install program.
Alternatively, you may Google "Sound card drivers for [insert brand and model of laptop here]."
It will take a bit of effort using this the google method. The laptop manufacturer's website is usually the best place to look. (Note that in some cases, the manufacturer's website can identify the sound card in particular for your laptop model. You can then google the "driver for [insert soundcard brand and model number]". Or go to the soundcard manufacturer's website and download the driver for your brand and model of laptop from there.).
Alternative to the two above options (Assuming you have windows, and it is functioning after a reinstall), try the basics: -Turn up the volume knob. -Turn up the volume on the operating system through the sound control panel. -If you have Windows, turn up the volume by right clicking the little speaker in the lower right corner of your screen. Be sure that there are NO mute options checked. Muting All turns off the volume for everything. Muting just the speaker, mutes the sound volume, but not everything else.
Most likely you need to replace your soundcard drivers, though. The process isn't difficult, but locating the right driver can have you pulling your hair out sometimes.
Here's the website where you can download the driver for your sound card (click here), open the link and select your o.s. (operating system) and on the next page click the blue button "Download driver".
Note: be careful with the ads, there are lots of google ads on the page.
Since you didn't mention the operating system, I can't make it specific.
Sorry for the typo, it was suppose to be Dell WEB site
You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system. Click on this link :- http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
a windows computer can only use one sound card for one function
you can use the internal sound card for output you can use the usb sound card for input / recording.
you can't use both for both.
Start -> control panel -> sounds and audio devices properties open up audio page
You can have one device selected on Sound playback You can have one device selected on Sound recording.
you can change which sound card is used for which function on this page. if you want to use the internal sound card set both settings to the internal if you want to use the external change both settings to the external.
Hi, you should have the driver CD for soundcard as it is shipped with the new sound card - if not you must download the driver for the soundcard not for the Chipset of the computer. Look at the soundcard - normal the driver manufacturer and model is shown on the "biggest" chip fixed on the soundcard - donwload the driver as shown on the chip of the soundcard from the manufacturer and install. (ensure you select driver for you operating system)
