I have a memorex DVD player that won't turn-on.....

I have a memorex dvd player that I loved,an ex gave to me,while we were together,as a christmas gift, and it was a beautiful gift indeed, that was until a few days ago when it just would not go on......I press play,I press standby, but the functions it use to do when I would press either one of those buttons no longer has an effect on my poor dvd player....I first noticed something weird when I left my dvd player on,and when I awoke it was off,I had a hard time getting it to go back on,and after that,it was not going on again, and a dvd is still in there,I just can't get the player on,I am curious why?Can the player burn out,get fried from being left on sometimes?Or is there a simple solution that won't involve buying a new one...?This is one of many consumer problems I have..Guess I luck out with mechanical devices......

Hi Donna,

Please do be frustated.

Your lovely Bose has problem with its mechanism that cause load / unload totally out of order. If you hear some noise while you turn on the bose or when you hit some buttons, it is telling us the motor still work. Now we need to check the broken gears ( or other mechanism linkage).
If you able assemble this Bose, go ahead to find and fix it mehanism ( you may need some parts replacement.

Note : Be carefully with its laser lens while power on ( avoid direct contact to your eyes).

Best luck,

I bought my first RTD215 2 years ago but the dvd player got stuckand wont open nor play... I bought another unit same model and after 8 months the same thing happened.. the dvd player got stuck again but...

If you really like the unit (disregarding the DVD player issues), maybe you could buy a GOOD stand-alone DVD or BluRay player and be ready for an upgrade in the electronics when the bug bites.

I NEED REMOTE CODES FOR THIS DVD RCA DRC200N I have an RCA dvd player (model RTD207) that I cannot program using the SPECTRA (model RC-500) Jumbo remote control I received as a Christmas present. I read...

I got it under control with a Time Warner remote the code is 10-1-9 or 1 area code and 0-1-9. So just put the remote in auto and cycle thru by pushing the channel buttom on teh TW remote, check yur remote.

I need a philips cl034 universal remote code for memorex dvd play

I have similar problem with a Philips CL034 Universal Remote and a Memorex MVD2047. The Philips/Magnavox codes listed at this link did NOT resolve the problem. I tried all Memorex codes and tried the "all coded step-through" method. The above is NOT a solution, rather a note on a time consuming attempt to a solution.

Non bose dvd player for bose system

In short, you can. I did it last night. My Bose 321 DVD player is junk and it's always been junk, but I love the sound sytem. Last night, after the thing gobbled it's last DVD, I went through the whole, unplug, wait 5 minutes, plug back in, etc. and it still wouldn't eject so I ripped the DVD tray out of the thing with a pair of pliers, recovered my DVD, and slammed the tray back in, stripping all the gears and screwing up the motor in the process.
BUT, I disconnected the video cable from my Bose and plugged it into the video out on my el-cheapo Tru-Tech $99 DVD recorder. Then I ran the audio out cables from the Tru-Tech to the Aux 1 inputs on my Bose 321.
When I want to watch a DVD now, I put the DVD in my Tru-Tech, turn on the Bose, switch it to Aux 1, and I get a great picture and the Bose sound. Best of all, I don't have to plug and unplug that sorry Bose system everytime the wind blows.
They used the absolute cheapest DVD player they could get their hands on--a Toshiba model--for all the Bose 321 older models. Every single person who bought one has had these same troubles and they've made no offer to fix them.
This was my first and last Bose because of that and I hope more people stay away from Bose until they get their act together and protect their customers. $1000 for a system that eats DVDs like M&M's is ridiculous.
