Question about Microsoft Outlook 2003 for PC

1 Answer

Outlook & emails.

Hello,
We have here Outlook 2003. One of my colleagues just informed me that one of the logistics lady's recieved around 70 emails, looked like read reciepts to me. At the bottom of these emails it says "was deleted without being read". But when I asked the person who's email address they were from, she said she hadnt sent anything to this person inparticular.
I'm abit baffled as to why this could happen, if anyone has any ideas then thats brilliant.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas.

Thanks for that. But why was this sent to a random persons emails, when this person wasnt even copied into them. Her name wasnt mentioned in them at all.

It may have been forwarded to that person - without the original senders knowledge.

When an email server has unread messages on it for 30 days (depending on IT Dept.'s settings) the oldest emails will be deleted as new ones come in.

The notification is sent to the sender so they can re-send, or contact in a different manner.

This is just notification that the email was not taken from the server yet.

It "could" be spam email. If you are sure it's not mail you would want to receive from that sender, in Outlook you can right-click the message and add the sender to the "Blocked Senders List." Further, you can create a rule to handle email from this sender.

Can't send email in outlook. please advise.

Can't send email in outlook
Outlook is an email client, much like outlook express or Windows Live mail.
TO work correctly the email client has the information already set up in to be able to contact the mail server (the computer with your email messages), and also authenticate you as a user (an email address and password).
In some cases you also need to configure the email servers (basically provide the server information directly to the system)
The newer version of Outlook can try to detect these settings, with decent success.

In order to make it work, open Outlook and click set up new email account.
Provide your name, email address, and password, servers, etc.

Since you didn't provide the name of the email provider (yahoo, msn, gmail, etc.) I will assume you know the specifics for it.
Also note that some free email accounts do not work well with Outlook. I know MSN and free yahoo mail accounts don't work very well.

How to create and edit a notes in ms outlook 2003?

Hello,
The fastest way to create a Note, regardless of where you are in Outlook, is by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+N. To access the notes folder (create/delete) look on the bottom left corner of a default outlook windows. you will see an icon like a yellow paper sheet with lift corner, click there.
Hope this helped.

Outlook 2003 says email is 'sent' but never get delivered

paul, make sure on your end that the emails you send end up in your Sent box and not stuck in the Out box...if still in Out they are not sending...if that is the case comcast may be blocking SMTP port 25 (unless you upgrade to some "Pro" type of account). are you you using comcast as your email provider?

Outlook will not recieve emails from our yahoo address,

Use of Outlook or other resident email programs (POP service) with Yahoo mail requires a subscription to Yahoo Mail Plus. There is no facility to utilize Outlook with a free mail account. (Reference http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/overview/overview-03.html).

Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007

When sending emails, while on the move (i.e using different wireless or broadband connections), if you do not click authentication required for the outgoing server and enter the username and password, or click use the same as incoming server the emails will not successfully deliver. It all depends on which email provider you are using.
