power off the printer. removed the network cable only. power on until it display ready. now print a config sheet or menu map. if it print without error then connect the network cable and print config sheet again. wait and observed. if it will start printing garbage then KILL the print jobs queued on the printer. after deleting all print jobs power off and power on printer with network cable connected. I hope that will fix the problem. by the way. was there any error display in the panel display like "49.4C02". etc.
Have u recently changed ur ink cartridge ?
If so the printer is printing an alignment page . Turn it off then on , so it prints the alignment page. load the alignment page on the scanner glass and press the "Scan" button to complete the alignment. Once the alignment has completed the alignment page will not be printed again until you change the next cartridge. See your user manual for details.
HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many
printing problems: The HP Print Diagnostic Utility. HP recommends that
you download and install the Print Diagnostic Utility any time you need
to troubleshoot a printing problem.
Lots of reasons here but usually it is because the software you are using to print is not compatible with the operating system anymore. Example: you used MS Photo Editor which was discontinued in 2003 and never supported under Windows XP. The one function that is broken is printing...it looks like it printed but a blank sheet of paper comes out. (exactly what you described)
Instead, use MS Picture and Fax Viewer or the follow-on product, MS Office Picture Manager.
If you remove the MS Photo Editor application under Control Panel/Software Programs then your picture files will open with a different (more print compatible and friendly) program.
