Question about Samsung SC-D453 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Hello, If you have this camcorder and looking for an answer about the memory stick? Well, the memory stick is only to store picture files and not video. It took me awhile to fiqure this out. So, before investing in a memory stick, be sure to find the cheapest one.
1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY STICK. 2. Set the power switch to CAMERA. 3. Press the PHOTO button and hold it. **If you do not wish to keep the still photo, wait 2 seconds until the picture releases. 4. To keep the image, pess the PHOTO button once again within 2 seconds after releasing the button. The still image is recorded to the Memory Stick. **Audio cannot be recorded onto the Memory Stick.

you need a driver for that to be able to recognize your camcorder on your computer.
after you download the driver, install it to your pc and it should be recognizable after you done it.
as for editing, windows moviemaker is a good software for editing but i prefer to use Ulead Movie maker, Ulead Producer or anything about Ulead because its so easy to use for editing and saving a movie or video files from your camcorder. you can also use your usb for connecting the interface with your camcorder and pc. hope that helps you and thank you for using fixya. dont forget to rate thanks!

the way you can transfer your videos on your computer is by using USB cable and install the driver to your computer. You can upload your videos by saving it on ULEAD products. As far as i know you cant transfer videos from disc to your memory card unless it was been converted but you cant view or watch it on your camcorder itself only computer can play this because your camcorder is not able to play such converted files.
thank you for using fixya

how did you transfer the video from the card to your PC?
did you connect the camcorder to your PC or did you use a memory card reader?
if you can play the audio then what you need is the right video codec for the unit
try searching for video codecs through search engines
make sure that the software that you are using to play the video plays the file format of your video,
try using roxio, then connect the camcorder to your computer via USB, make sure that the drivers are installed, play the video through your camcorder then use roxio to capture it real time instead of the usual "copy-paste"

SOURCE: Memory Card Problems
According to the samsung website "
Samsung camcorders manufactured in 2004 and later can be used with memory sticks up to 1GB. Anything over 1GB is not guaranteed to work. "
I have the same problem. Video works fine on my 256MB card but not on my 4GB or 8GB cards. It would be nice to know if anyone has success with a particular card >1GB.
