Western Digital Green Power 500 Gb SATA300, 7200 rmp, 16 Mb

I can´t find anything about how to set it to SATA-1 on the label on the disk. Only how to set the jumpers for 1,5 GB PHY , how to enable SSC, and how to enable PUIS.

I, m not so good at computers......

    Thanks to lexian_phoen !

I,ve solved my problem with your tips. I set a clip on the disk between pin5 and 6 wich enable 1,5 GB PHY and it did it.

    Many thanks to you!!!

I'm sorry to say buddy but I checked ... Then checked some more, and I can't see anything about your motherboard supporting SATA-II. If you look about you should find a jumper setting on your HDD to limit it to SATA-I, which is about half the speed of sata-ii but I'm almost promising it will work.

Let me know if this solves it, If not I can find the jumper settings for you, But seeing as though you just bought it you should have a manual.

Mother board masi km4am-l H.D.D. 1 TRA WES 64MB when installing win xp hard not detected by win setup. I updated bios but not worked. advance thanks

you should not update the bios...the issue is the hard disk is on sata ...and you need a raid driver installed to detect the hdd...so ...either get into BIOS and under advanced features..look the place where the drives are detected..and select the hdd and look for a feature called AHCI ..and disable it ..and leave sata like ide..and save with f10 and restart ...after that the hdd will be seen ..
another way is to make a floppy disk with the raid driver on it (the one from the mothermoard drivers disk ) ..and when it ask you to press f6 for 3rd party software ...press it ..and insert the floppy ...it will pick up the raid driver and will go like a charm ..
if you do not have a floppy ..install a second cd drive ..and use a cd ..and after pressing f6 for 3rd party ..browse and point to the raid driver on the mobo driver cd ..

How much total Hard Disk capasity supported by my motherboard

Since it supports 120GB, it will support any "large" SATA drive, such as 500GB or twice or three times that size.

Can´t find SATA-disk on my motherboard MS-7061 and chipset KM400A

If the Bios does not see the disk, the operating system will not see the disk, nor will the install -even if you do an f6 to load drivers. It is most likely a problem between the motherboard not recognising the SATA-II interface. So no real solution I'm afraid. I suggest you install a SATA-II interface card which the BIOS will see, and add the card driver at f6 to install XP.

Switching from 40GB IDE HDD to 500GB SATA HDD. SATA won't boot.

Hi there
No there is no need to change any jumpers on a sata drive, go into the bios settings and tell the bios to boot from the western digital drive only.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!!
