Question about Canon i80 InkJet Printer

New printer, blank pages

I just purchased a new canon i80 and followed all the instructions carefully. When I ask it to print it acts like it is printing but the page comes out blank. If it is a two page document it sends two blank pages through so I know the computer is connected ok to printer.

To remove the printhead:
Ensure that the printer is on and open the printheadcover.
----The printhead holder will move to the center.
Press for some seconds the resume/paperfeed button.
----The printhead holder will move a little to the right.
Press and lift the tiny grey handle now visible at the left and in front of the printhead holder, now you can remove the printhead.

Hi, On most inkjet printers, you have to remove a sticker/tape on the new ink cartridge to allow th ink to get to the print head. Since your printer is going thru the notion of printing and with correct number of pages at that, it is a matter of ink head not getting any ink. On some rare instances, the cartridge(s) that came with the new printer are dried up. If you have verified that there are no longer any sticker/tape on the ink catridge that needs to be removed and that the bottom has been punctured to provide passage for the ink, you may be better off returning the Canon i80 for checkup or replacement. Hope this be of some help/idea. post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Sounds/looks like it's printing but paper comes out clean - there's lots of ink and I've changed the ink levels

Hi, have you checked to make sure you removed the sticky tape cover from the end of the cart?
Sounds silly I know but I have done this before & it's easy to forget when your in a hurry :-)

I80 black cartidge not printing

get a q-tip and wet one end in water.  run wet q-tip along head a few times.  then take dry end and run along head again to dry it.  then run wet end again on the absorber side of head.  then dry with dry end.  replace parts, do a deep cleaning, and try a test print.

Canon i80

Hi,
take out all of the cartridges, and carefully inspect the mating ( chip surfaces ) for dirt-dust-debris.
This could be a sensor related issue, look carefully at the printer itself to see if theres any switches or relays, that the actual cartridge mates up with when installed.
sometimes, the cartridge just needs taking out, and simply reinserting, push firmly into it,s slot.
if non of this works, turn off the printer, and check the cabling for suspected damage wear, or connecting. i.e bent pins et,c.
